rovey1961 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I know the season technically hasn't ended yet but looking to the future... It is my opinion that the Bills NEED EM back next year. Since his CAP number is >$10m he is getting older and a bit slower lets see if the Bills mgt (whoever that is) can get him to redo his contract I think EM has 3 maybe 4 years left what if mgt offers him a 4 yr $20M contract w/$12 SB year 1 Salary vet min + SB = vet min + $3 year 2 Salary $1.2M + SB = $1.2 + $3 = 4.2M year 3 Salary $2M + SB = $2 + $3 = $5M year 4 Cut = deadcap $3 opinions?
RVJ Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Is resign spelled the same way for both of these. Re- sign someone . Or TD Re-zines.
2003Contenders Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 That $12M guaranteed up-font money is too much to give him at this stage of his career. If he plays, say, only one year of it, then it would cost us $8 M against the cap just to release him -- and that doesn't even count the unamoratized portion of his orginal signing bonus. Much is going to depend on how much EM really wants to be back and how much of a cut he is willing to accept.
LabattBlue Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 2006 will be a rebuilding year. Say goodbye to EM & MW(and TD ), absorb the dead cap hit and let's hope that this team can begin a resurgence.

Obviously that's completely up to TD and Ralph Wilson. A reliable wide receiver for years who can still make the big plays when the game is on the line.
Realist Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I'd like to see him stay, as long as he quits his whining about the QB's. Obviously he is going to have to take a pay cut, but our WR corps is very young, we need a veteran presence here.
IDBillzFan Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Resign him to what? The fact that he'll have to deal with a new quarterback again? Or to the fact that he'll have to take a pay cut? Or that he'll likely end his career having never won in the playoffs. You need to be more specific. Exactly what should we resign Eric Moulds to? Or do you want him to quit football altogether? I'm not even sure if a player can resign from the game. I think they have to retire because if they resign then they don't get any money. Gosh. There are so many ways he can resign.
John from Riverside Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 I think folks just need to come to terms with the fact that Eric isn't going to be here next year..... He is going to look out for himself....he has already restructured his deal twice for the bills..... He is gone What we should be doing is looking at what veteran WR we can bring in to replace him..... Brandon Loyd?
BuffalOhio Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 The cap is going up about $10M next year. That may help the Bills immensely. I hope Moulds goes to the Colts for the vet minimum, just so he can have a great QB passing to him. He's never had that.

I've resigned to the fact that no one knows & I'll never find out.
