ganesh Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Did any one notice... I actually like Sterlings and Mikes calling the game...They were fair and balanced and did not jump on the Denver bandwagon...Also there was no shouting and screaming in the booth.....I wish these guys would call the games more often for ESPN.... Also, both of them were against MM being fired...and actually thought that we had talent in this ball club (except on the line of course).

I could have stood a little more play analysis, but you don't get that any more from any broadcast.....
The Poojer Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 agreed, they stated what needed to be stated, both good and bad and moved on, was that sterling sharpe? I was very impressed! He's not afraid to admit when he's wrong. And he knows a thing or two.
BrixtonBill Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Sharpe and Tirico were better to listen to then the idiots they have for Sunday night but I was wondering why Sharpe kept saying that the Bills have a talented team and Donohoe and Mularkey will right the ship. Tirico's botching the replay rules in the 1st half was a bit annoying. Sharpe was humble (which is completely 180 degrees from his brother's take on things).
FanfromAlbany Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 ...but someone should tell Mike Tureco that only the booth can challenge a call during the final two minutes of each half.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 ...but someone should tell Mike Tureco that only the booth can challenge a call during the final two minutes of each half. 537224 True--although I'm not so sure he wasn't suggesting that MM should have called a timeout to allow the booth people time to decide whether to look at it. When Sharpe corrected him on the point, Tirico kind of brushed him off, like he was talking about something else. Mike Tirico--a Syracuse grad, I believe--is one of my favorite sportscasters, especially when he does SU Basketball games. Very fair, but also knowledgable.
cåblelady Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 ...but someone should tell Mike Tureco that only the booth can challenge a call during the final two minutes of each half. 537224 Even "I" knew that.
HopsGuy Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 ...but someone should tell Mike Tureco that only the booth can challenge a call during the final two minutes of each half. 537224 Peter King made mention of that. That was really the only problem I had with their work. Tirico is a Syracuse alum and commented on the heartiness of WNYers. Sharpe is much better than he was when he was on NFL Countdown. The rumors floating around were that they replaced him with Michael Irvin because he really didn't do his homework and missed quite a few prep meetings. I guess he's learned his lesson. For all the bad announcing out there, they weren't too bad. I always liked Ray Bentley. I wish he was still working for CBS.
R. Rich Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Ahhhh, they both sucked. Everyone sucks. Fire the announcers! Bring in the backups.
Ed_Formerly_of_Roch Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I thought they did a good job on the game itself, but statign that TD has the Bills going in the right direction was a pretty amazing statement.
Fezmid Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Ahhhh, they both sucked. Everyone sucks. Fire the announcers! Bring in the backups. 537291 The backups suck too. They're all scrubs, or they'd be starting. Blow up everything, start over from scratch, starting with the networks.
