If a team has studs on the offensive and defensive lines, they can have middling talent everywhere else and still win.  You still need some marquee talent to win a Super Bowl, but you start with the lines.

So the Coach and GM are fine ?

I guess it DOESN'T end with the lines...

If the lines were addressed a couple years ago like they should have been, there is a good possibility that MM and TD wouldn't be worried about their jobs. Gauranteed.

The biggest irony in this statement is that this was Chuck Noll's theory of football. He always preached having the best guys on the lines in the trenches. And, of course, TD and MM, lineal descendants from that Pittsburgh school of thought, have completely forgotten the lessons taught by the founding father.

They are no longer in Pittsburgh because they knew better and refused to accept this basic premise.

TD and MM both favor the glitz and glammor over the blue line trench warfare for which the Steelers are noted.

Roscoe Parrish playing QB sums it up for how MM talks power football but relishes finesse and trickery.

The 2 must go and must be replaced by a GM and coach with a blue collar attitude who understands the lines are key.

Kirk Ferentz should be the coach and the GM should be an asst from a team which has produced a blue colar team- say Chicago,
