Right click on the desktop and go to properties. Then go to Settings and then set the resolution to something you like. Possbily 1024x768 or even lower if you want. God, even 1024x768 just doesn't offer enough screen real estate for my liking... I'm at 1280x1024, and if I had better eyes would prefer to go 1600x1200.
