Peter Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 I don't know that you are in the extreme minority. I thought RJ had incredible potential, which he flashed very early on...I don't know, however, if the line back then was as bad as the one we have now...to me, RJ's biggest problem was his seeming fragile body, and a sort of questionable (IMO) desire. They always said he had "all the tools", forgetting that he lacked these. . 533512 The line then was every bit as bad as the line that we have now and have had for the past several years. I just wish the Bills "brain trust" would realize just how important it is to upgrade this line.
Buftex Posted December 15, 2005 Author Posted December 15, 2005 The line then was every bit as bad as the line that we have now and have had for the past several years. 533516 You may be right, it seems it has been varying degrees of awful for the last 10 years...one thing though, I think a QB can contribute a lot to a lines' effectiveness, or lack of...
dave mcbride Posted December 15, 2005 Posted December 15, 2005 RJ in his first year with the Bills. I know I am in the extreme minority on this one, but I would have loved to see him play for the Bills with an adequate offensive line. 533495 he did look pretty good his first year, and the massive number of sacks he took at the beginning of the season and in the final game pretty much went unnoticed because of the overall warm fuzzies bills fans had that year. it was really in 2000 and especially 2001 that he crapped out, getting constantly pounded and hurt. he also didn't play that well in 2001 (even after factoring in the poor supporting cast).
