KD in CA Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 Unreal. It's December and still we have people starting Drew Bledsoe threads. Were is the Travis Henry thread? Didn't he score yesterday? How about the Pat Williams thread? He had 3 tackles yesterday! I'm sure those 3 guys would have stomped all over the Pats yesterday. Here you go Peter and the rest of the 'tards who can't let it go.....have fun: http://blog.dallascowboys.com/forums/
JDG Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 That bum Bledsoe throwing 6 incomplete passes. What a loser!http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=250911024 CW 529647 Come back to me when he does it on the road....

It is obvious that you completely miss the point. The most important decision that the Bills made in the off season was to get rid of DB, hand the keys to the offense to someone who is not ready, and not adequately address the offensive line, which has caused the demise of many a QB since Jim Kelly left. Whoever our QB was, is, or will be will not be in a position to succeed until we adequately address the offensive line. The Bills unintentionally did DB a favor by not making him play behind the horrid line that they have assembled. Your post is kind of like politicians cynically questioning the patriotism of other politicians. I am ready to compare my Buffalo Bill "credentials" any time you want. By the way, have you linked the Cowboy board when the DB haters have started topics about DB? I thought not.

stuckincincy Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 528273 I don't know if I qualify as a Bledsoe basher. I certainly did not care for his lack of touch on short patterns when he was here, and very much disliked his hang-dog lack of leadership. His performance in critical games was disappointing. I was not in favor of his re-signing. That the replacement is less than stellar is sad, but please understand that many, if not most, who felt he was not the fabled "QB of the Future" felt thay way with some history on their side. And with the usual trepidation of what might happen with a virtual rookie at the helm. I'm starting to think that the "Bledsoe" supporters are not so much concerned with the Bills, but rather prefer to relish the term, "I told YOU so!".

Why are you obsessed with posting about him if by your own admission, he wouldn't have had as much success in Buffalo as he is in Dallas? Do you think that the Bills have some secret desire that every guy they choose not to resign ends up a complete failure on another team? I'm just not concerned with getting into the childish "HA!- you said!" idiocy. That folks make knee-jerk outrageous statements all the time is obvious, and one must seperate wheat from chaff. My point is that numerous folks made reasoned statements about DB's playing. Where do you think the Bills would be if DB were still on the club?

Dallas Cowboys at San Diego Chargers CW 529681 Fair enough, although he did take four sacks in that game! But look at his next three stat lines on the road from this season. 24 of 38 with 2 picks *@ San Francisco* (in a game they nearly lost!) with 2 sacks. 11 of 26 with 1 pick @ Oakland with 4 sacks. 13 of 24 with 2 picks @ Seattle with 4 more sacks!!!! Don't go telling me that Bledsoe consistently gets it done for the Cowboys on the road. JDG

Peter Posted December 12, 2005 Author Posted December 12, 2005 The Bills didn't 'unintentionally' do anything. Please tell me that you're still drunk and not really as stupid as that just made you sound. 529725 Linking the Cowboy board is not only jingoistic it is pretty tired and unoriginal. Again, you missed my point. First, the reference to the Bills doing something "unintentionally" was that they did DB a favor by letting him go somewhere else given that the Bills have not adequately addressed the offensive line. It also does not hurt one bit that the Cowboys actually have a professional HC. By contrast, the Bills have not done JP, Willis, the team, or the fans any favors by not adequately addressing the line. It would be difficult for any QB [insert any name you want] or RB [insert any name you want] to reach their potential and succeed behind this piss poor line. The Bills and many of you wanted to deflect the problems with the line on DB. His play and our play this year show the fallacy of that position. Again, we better do something about our offensive line. Otherwise, it will not make any difference whatsoever who our QB and RB are because we will be setting them and the team up for failure.
Mark Vader Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 My God, do we have to go through all of this again?! I really liked Bledsoe when he was on the team, and I defended him plenty of times. But whats done is done!! Drew Bledsoe is ancient history!! I don't care about the damn Dallas Cowboys!!! I care about the Bills and what they are going to have to do to become a better team!!! GET OVER IT!!!
Offside Number 76 Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Again, so there's no misunderstanding, my posts are directed towards the people who said/say he's washed up and should retire. CW 529714 I'm with you. The mistake was not letting Bledoe go--obviously, he wouldn't succeed in this system, with this o-line. The mistake was the concept that the QB was the problem. Manning (either), Montana, Marino, Unitas, even Saint Jim would play poorly right now with this team. The Losman draft pick--and I don't mind JP--would have been better spent on another position.
Ljberkow12 Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Look at the his numbers over his career, especially when you look back when he had good offensive lines. Some of his career numbers are in the top 10 in the NFL all time. 529586 Stop with the numbers with this guy. He's good for enough stupid plays in any given game to turn a win into a loss. He makes bad decisions - period. He doesn't go through his progressions, he locks on to receivers, and has poor pocket presence. Quarterback play in the NFL isn't about accumulating numbers. It's going out there and executing a game plan.
