WVUFootball29 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Second String is probably the worst football movie ever made. the only 2 things it had going for it were: 1. The fact the team it was based around was the Buffalo Bills 2. Doug Flutie gets an extremely bad case of food poisoning and is in the hospital (that sold the movie for me, just the fact that mighty midget gets put in the hospital by a bad clam) yeah, this was kinda off topic but oh well. Who else saw this piece of garbage?
Ghost of BiB Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I did, and then blanked it from my memory. Thanks for just ruining all those years of repression.
/dev/null Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Bad script, bad acting, and not a very believable plot when you consider the GM was John Butler. Had all 3 starting QBs gone down in real life, Butler would have just traded 1st and 4th round draft picks to Jacksonville for some loser
jester43 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 at least they wore real bills uniforms in the film.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Tom Landry Voight as Bills head coach.
The Dean Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 It SUCKED! So did the Replacements. When it comes to football movies, gimme North Dallas Forty all day long.
WVUFootball29 Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 I actually liked the replacements, not for the great football action, just the mere fact it was at least entertaining
Rubes Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 "I looked like I just jacked off an elephant!"
Steve O Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Last year the Bills tried at least one of the plays from the movie. Bledsoe was walking off the field in disgust as if the was going to take a time out, then the ball was hiked to Mcgahee. Didn't really get much out of it as I recall. Seem to remember another play from the movie was used at some point during the year but can't recall what it was.
Lori Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I saw it, and have the DVD. 527117 There's a DVD? I kept my taped copy, if only to watch Van Miller lean out of the broadcast booth and yell something like "You guys STINK!!!" Priceless....
Mike32282 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I had someone burn me a copy a few weeks ago, i never saw it. I wish I didn't. What a cheesy movie. They didn't even show us hoisting the Lombardi.
WVUFootball29 Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 It was a low budget film...do you think they were going to spend the money to rent the lombardi trophy?
Mike32282 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 It was a low budget film...do you think they were going to spend the money to rent the lombardi trophy? 527249 I figured it was low budget. It had some terrible quality on the field, and in the stadium when they tried to mix the fan shots with the player on the field.
mcjeff215 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Mmmmmmm.... The best part about that movie is the Anglina Jolie Connection. As a matter of fact, that's the best part of *all* Jon Voight movies.
gmac17 Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 didnt they mix real nfl highlights in with the awful shots of the d level actors "scoring"? i think they used van's voice as well...
MavBavButav Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 might be the worst movie of all time....
/dev/null Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 might be the worst movie of all time.... 527294 no, that honor belongs to You Got Served

Who else saw this piece of garbage? 527109 At least one of the four time superbowl losers were able to overcome the big loss. Poor Minnesota Vikequeens. Even the stadium cuts were horrible, most of the Superdome shots were inside the infamous Metrodome. Even the outside pics were wrong. Really classy movie, would have preferred Flutie over the flakes.
