Ever listen to her album with Dolly and Linda Rondstadt? 523591[/snapback] No...but, will check it out sometimes. For all her commercialism, Dolly is the real deal. Linda R lost me years ago...but on your advice, I'll check it out.
The Poojer
that would be $100 well spent. I feel better now. I have been thinking of going to one of Levon's "Midnight Rambles" one of these days. It would have been terrific to see him and Emmylou doing "Evangeline" together again. When you read about the small crowd, it should be noted that these shows are intentionally limted to a couple hundred people. It's all about the music. Rockpile check out a great home page: The Band

Her "Big Band" stuff is really good, with Nelson Riddle. Trio

rockpile
Not really. They are doing this NOW! Keeping the tradition of the spirit of "Americana" alive. There was always something hauntingly nostalgic about The Band and their peers. (Sigh) We headed back to Summer Jam at Watkins Glenn again? TheMadCap
Just picked up a copy of The Last Waltz on DVD. Highly recommended. One lasting image of ol Levon I have is when he and Rick Danko of the Band sang with drunkard Van Morrison on the live Wall in Berlin in 1990. They all had to sing on just one mic and Morrison was screaming so loud, poor Levon and Rick were wincing in pain. Good times, man... BTW, is Levon sueing Cingular for using "The Weight" in thier commercials????
rockpile
Robbie Robertson is credited wth writing 95% of their music. Levon and the rest might disagree, but they were busy partying while Robbie signed the business papers. Just picked up a copy of The Last Waltz on DVD. Highly recommended.
