With a crappy season comes a higher draft pick, so at least we have that to look forward to :D

Right now we're in the 7-12 range

1: Houston 1-11

2-4: GB, NY Jets, SF: 2-10

5-6: Tennessee, NO: 3-9

7-12: Arizona, Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, Oakland, Buffalo: 4-8

13-15: Miami, St Louis, Philly: 5-7

16: Washington: 6-6

With the way the Bills are capable of breakin our hearts on a week in, week out basis, we'll probably run the table, finish 8-8, and get a nice, mediocre #16 or #17 pick.

Unless we use it to trade it down to stockpile picks, this isn't a good thing.

The Top Five usually make more coin than they'll ever be worth (see: MW), when just outside the Top Ten, the contract numbers go down markedly, and you've got just as good a chance of getting a solid player. Maybe moreso, b/c you aren't as influenced by all the hype (again, see: MW).

I'm never going to be excited about the chance to pick a guy that has at least a one/third chance of being a complete bust while killing our salary cap.

I'd much rather pick last in the first round.
