They just showed him miked up during the Colts/Bengals game and that guy knows what he is doing. The players play for him, and he is always pumped. We definitely messed up when we passed on him.

Too bad he disliked Buffalo so much and didn't want to come here!

No. The real story was Grego had aced his interview and TD was already SOOOOOO impressed with the catalog of assistant coaches that GW had in his hip pocket - the likes of Ronnie Vinklarek as offensive line coach, Danny Smith as special teams coach, Steve Kragthorpe as quarterbacks coach, Miles Aldridge as linebackers coach, Steve Fairchild running backs coach, Mike Shepard offensive coordinator, Jerry Gray defensive coordinator, Fred Graves wide receivers coach, John Levra defensive line coach, Dan Neal tight ends coach, Tommy Kaiser as an offensive assistant/special teams assistant, Chuck Lester as a defensive assistant/assistant to the head coach and Steve Jackson as assistant defensive backs/3rd down specialist!

With a God Damned Coaching Hall of Fame Staff like that, old Marvin Lewis just didn't stand a chance.

Biggest misconception.

Apparently Marvin bombed his interview in the eyes of TD. He would have come to Buffalo had he been offered the job. No question about it.

Lewis probably would have been a great choice, but the Bengals have certainly drafted very high for several years -- that does help.

Lots of people like to talk about how great Marv Levy was, and he was very good, but he was also the beneficiary of Buffalo having several consecutive years of high draft picks. He inherited a very talented core of players and so has Marvin Lewis. While Buffalo has some talent, I don't think they have the talent that Cincinati has accumulated over the years. Gregg Williams may have done the same with the Bengals as Marvin Lewis has done. Who knows? There's no way to know, but it all starts with real talent on the field. Buffalo didn't have it when Gregg Williams was hired and they still lack it today in many areas.

Give Mularkey some talent and I think he can be successful. I want to see Modrak and Mularkey stay and I want to see Tom Donahue gone along with Jerry Gray and Tom Clements.

wish we had jimmy johnson as a gm coach.he is one of the very few that is capable of pulling that off.a guy like him could get rewarded very fast in buffalo.we have a future qb in jp a future rb in willis and a future wr in lee evans.not a bad trio to build around.with a #4-9 pick in the draft i'd love to have a wheeler /dealer type guy running our draft this year.he has such a big ego and our team is one of the easiest to fix jimmy would make us instant contenders!go bills in'06
