So what was it, first or second down on the Miami 3, and Losman THROWS the ball. INT. game over.  Ghost of Kevin Killdrive.

Any person with a normal allocation of grey matter would have realized 3 safe dive plays would yield a killer FG, worst case. But noooooo! We have Mr. super clever MM to rely on.

This is one of the few times I don't find as much fault with the coaches; it was all on JP. If he completes that pass the game really is over and we would be writing about the day JP had and how the coaches had the killer instinct and confidence in JP and blah, blah, blah. Their biggest problem was playing NFL like a Madden videogame by just calling plays and experimenting instead of trying to win and finish the game. Just imagine if we had agood coaching staff who knew how to work magic and make the opponents adjust to our game. Think about it, we were 2nd before the game started probably number one after in points scored in the 1st quarte and opening drives. What if we had a coaching staff who knew how to manage games after getting a quick lead versus one that tinkers with success and play around with this or that and then forget what got them on the board in the 1st place. In the beginning it was McGahee having successful run but the coaches not sticking with it and now this. What if the passing game with Evans and Mouds having good games could be combined with a good WM running game? All we can do is imagine for it will never happen with this coaching staff and they will not force the D to adjust as they will make it easy and do that for them!

Same O and play call against the same D and pressure :

Kelly throws it out of the endzone the moment the defenders break into the backfield and he sees the play has no chance to develop.

Collins gets sacked because he never sees the pressure and can't get away.

Johnson acts too quickly and throws it up for grabs in the endzone.

Flutie, god bless him, sees the pressure, bides some time and either makes a play or throws it away.

Bledsoe sees the pressure but can't get away. Is stripped of the ball before going down.

JP will get a better feel for this, but as I posted in different topic about this play...

Did any coach reinforce what he should do if play breaks down?

This was too critical a play to assume your inexperienced QB will make the experienced decision. Our coaches have to coach on gameday, too.

Then the expected sideline shot of Mularkey, mouth agape, with sleigh bells all over his antlers...
