After the Lossman fumble he had a pick for 6 in his hands and dropped it. Would have made score 28-0, GAME OVER PERIOD! Its the kind of play a team relys on from a top 5 CB. He is not that, he is a very gifted, undisciplined, hot dawg, over rated player.

He had a horrible game, but he's a wasted talent lining up 12 yards off the receiver. Jerry Gray is basically telling everyone that this defense sucks so we're just going to try to make you run 10-12 plays to get your TD and hope you make some mistakes. That style doesn't do Clements or McGee justice. They can cover, but our front 4 just has too many plays where the QB could stand in the pocket for literally 6-8 seconds and nobody can cover that long.

 

It is disappointing seeing Clements play poorly though, he has been such a dominant player since his rookie year. Normally he picks that pass off for 6 versus the Fish and we are talking about how he forced a fumble and cashed a pic 6 en route to victory, but that's how things have gone for him lately.

For this reason alone, I'm ready to see Jerry Gray go bye-bye. The defense is painfully predictable and gameplanning for it and making mid-game tweaks against it are just too easy.

Playing 10-12 yards off the ball is a good place to attack a route from, but it's an absolutely horrible place to try and defend a route from.
