Golden Wheels Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I turn on the tv in time to hear Chris Berman say something about NFL PrimeTime not being around next year, and they are going to give the rest of this season their best effort. What happened? Does this have something to do with the NFL Network & their rights to the replays?
Thailog80 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Felony Oral Cop on Tedy Bruschi got them a few years in Jail.

Joe Theisman and John Madden. Something to look forward to.
2003 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 noo i think Primetime is movin to ABC, and Monday night football is moving to ESPN, and if im not mistaken i think this is Maddens last year.
Hollywood Donahoe Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 noo i think Primetime is movin to ABC, and Monday night football is moving to ESPN, and if im not mistaken i think this is Maddens last year. No, ABC loses TV rights after this year. NBC gets Sunday nights, and Monday Night moves to ESPN. As for the topic, if it means no more Berman, I'm ecstatic.
soldier Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 ESPN doesn't have the Sunday night package anymore. The highlight show will be on NBC next year. Also, I agree about Berman, the less of him, the better.
JimBob2232 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I agree. I put up with berm, and even somewhat like him, because he is a die hard bills fan...but since thats the only reason i like him...odds are fans of the other 31 teams cant stand him.

He just hypes them more than some other teams.
Chalkie Gerzowski Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 That fat pig has worn out his welcome with upstate NY. Take your cab driver stories and stick them up your *** you fat tub a crap.
Offside Number 76 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 The nickname thing that Berman does was played out ten years ago, but I do like him; he's good-natured and is genuinely excited about the sports he covers. More than I could say about most sportscasters.
colin Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 why the hell don't you guys like berman? he is an anchor on a pregame show, do they not cover their material well enough in the 1.5 hours they have? he supports the bills, why is his welcome worn out? some of you guys need paxil or something, jeez
BigDaddy12 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 As a part of the new TV contract with NBC taking over the sunday night game, no other network may produce a highlight show until after 11PM Sunday night.
SDS Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 This is a big mistake in my opinion... People like tradition and PT has a long one. This short term money grab will backfire IMHO.
NYGPopgun10 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Agreed SDS. I don't get some of the animosity to Berman. Yeah, he can be a nutball but he brings a lot of energy to those highlights and has a passion for the game. I enjoy watching PT.
jarthur31 Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 I like Boomer and the highlights. Too many people on this board hate lots of things including ex-players who have the gall to go into broadcasting and are constantly stinking up the airwaves. What a bunch of jealous losers!!! :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

This short term money grab will backfire IMHO. 520279[/snapback] What is a big mistake....NBC taking over Sunday night football? or Primetime getting shut down? Even though i like PT, i can assure you that no one will watch more or less football because that show isn't on. There's like a million outlets showing NFL highlights. There will be countless ways to see NFL highlights before 11pm on Sunday nights.
nick in* england Posted December 5, 2005 Posted December 5, 2005 Woop! I like Berman. Woop! I'll miss his highlight commentary. He COULD. Go. ALL. THE. WAY.
