Alaska Darin Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 So? Our ancestors used emminent domain to take the land from the Indians in the first place. Only THEN it was called Manifest Destiny. 517388 You're such a prize.
X. Benedict Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 So? Our ancestors used emminent domain to take the land from the Indians in the first place. Only THEN it was called Manifest Destiny. 517388 And damn if it didn't work pretty well too.
/dev/null Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 So? Our ancestors used emminent domain to take the land from the Indians in the first place. Only THEN it was called Manifest Destiny. 517388 They're just gonna take the land, at least we gave them some beads in return.
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 So? Our ancestors used emminent domain to take the land from the Indians in the first place. Only THEN it was called Manifest Destiny. 517388 Actually...that was a pretty good one. Not great, just good.

Only THEN it was called Manifest Destiny. 517388 Nothing was taken from the Indians, they were conquered. Historically, that's called TOUGH SCHIT. If they Chinese invaded right now and took over the US, do you think in 300 years they'll be giving land to the Smith and Jones tribes from New Jersey so that they can build a casino?

Possibly, a couple new missile silos.

Only THEN it was called Manifest Destiny. 517388 Actually, more North American Indians (I REFUSE to call them Native Americans) died of disease than died violent deaths.
CoachChuckDickerson Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Actually, more North American Indians (I REFUSE to call them Native Americans) died of disease than died violent deaths. 517678 Agreed. Genocide, especically at the hands of Americans, should just be dusted under the carpet. Nope, never happened.
billsfanone Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 We should give them smallpox and alcohol.
KD in CA Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Another assault on personal property rights is ignored so that everyone can whine about what happened to the Indians 300 years ago?
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Another assault on personal property rights is ignored so that everyone can whine about what happened to the Indians 300 years ago? 517745 This statement screams for a ridiculous response like "So you supported Hitler and the Nazi Party, as well?"

Ghost of BiB Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 No, but the Smith and Jones tribes would be playing Majong and eating dimsum. 517824 Oh man...I'm the dim sum ranger. Hong Kong seriously spoiled me. That, and suckling pig and duck. I can't pronounce the Cantonese word on the board in English, but I was known as "The Duck Man" around Causeway Bay. About 100 different ways to do duck. Almost a spiritual experience.
