It's damn ridiculous that we *aren't* profiling. Oh wait, you mean the prayer section? Well, you see, it's important to not offend anyone. Can't have anyone upset at us! -Jeff
SnakeOiler
Geez, this country has gotten to be completely backwards and ridiculous with all of this mindless political correctness. There is no consistency....if you just substitute one religion for another (Islam vs. christianity) in these stories, you get a totally different result. I'm not terribly religious, but I find all of this to be disgusting. We can't have Xmas anymore, a college student can't read the bible in his dorm room, but the Giants set aside parts of the stadium for prayer. What a bunch of absolute crap. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,174719,00.html
dib
i wonder if the power of prayer would help the bills out of their current mess I think we're past prayer. I think we're entering the area of animal sacrifice.
SnakeOiler
OT --> For more stupid examples of political correctness...there is a website that is pretty funny/sad at the same time: http://www.tonguetied.us/ http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,176167,00.html Gotta love this quote: "I'm a minister of the First Amendmist Church of True Science and I can't raise funds or anything else because all the coins say that we believe in God, and that's completely against our principals," he said. --from a guy trying to get 'In God We Trust' off of our money
Gavin in Va Beach
Next thing you know, they'll have to provide a room and animals to sacrifice for the Satanists after they threaten a lawsuit. Hey, I wonder if they would provide a room stocked with wine and women for the pagans?
RkFast
I actually think it makes sense. To avoid confusion, give them a place to go pray...tell them to go stand in a spot "over in the corner" and let them have at it. But whats more troubling is the lack of understanding on the part of those detained as to WHY they were profiled.
Chalkie Gerzowski
If they want to pray, they should go to one of the 100,000 mosques located in northern New Jersey.
Simon
We can't have Xmas anymore, a college student can't read the bible in his dorm room, We can't have Christmas? And I spent all weekend putting up lights. I agree with what you're getting at but those examples are a little over the top. Since when can't somebody read whatever they damned well please in their own room?
Just Jack
But whats more troubling is the lack of understanding on the part of those detained as to WHY they were profiled. 510805[/snapback] From the article..... "The FBI said it detained five Muslim men Sept. 19 because they were in a sensitive area near the stadium's main air intake duct. The men said they had been praying, and said they believed they had been singled out because of their faith. Security was extra tight that night because former President Bush was on hand as part of a fundraising campaign for victims of Hurricane Katrina." That's not profiling, that's common sense.
