how can you leave out this one:

Well, now, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole,

We may not get a bite all day, but don't you rush away.

What a great place to rest your bones and mighty fine for skippin' stones,

You'll feel fresh as a lemonade, a-settin' in the shade.

Whether it's hot, whether it's cool, oh what a spot for whistlin' like a fool.

What a fine day to take a stroll and wander by The Fishin' Hole,

I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

We'll have no need to call the roll when we get to The Fishin' Hole,

There'll be you, me, and Old Dog Trey, to doodle time away.

If we don't hook a perch or bass, we'll cool our toes in dewy grass,

Or else pull up a weed to chaw, and maybe set and jaw.

Hangin' around, takin' our ease, watchin' that hound a-scratchin' at his fleas.

Come on, take down your fishin' pole and meet me at The Fishin' Hole,

I can't think of a better way to pass the time o' day.

Because nobody knows the lyrics. All they know is the whistling.

Lest we Central New Yorkers ignore one of our own. Former Liverpool High School Music Department Leader Joe Raposo and Three's Company, plus I believe Thomas the Tank Engine song!

perhaps I have the wrong Joe Raposo, I always thought they were one and the same, but this Joe Raposo died in '89, and I do not recall the Liverpool one having departed

Lest we Central New Yorkers ignore one of our own.  Former Liverpool High School Music Department Leader Joe Raposo and Three's Company, plus I believe Thomas the Tank Engine song!

Three's Company has got to be the second cheesiest TV song ever. The first cheesiest goeas as follows:

You take the good, you take the bad,

you take them both and there you have

The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

There's a time you got to go and show

You're growin' now you know about

The Facts of Life, the Facts of Life.

When the world never seems

to be livin up to your dreams

And suddenly you're finding out

the Facts of Life are all about you, you.

It takes a lot to get 'em right

When you're learning the Facts of Life. (learning the Facts of Life)

Learning the Facts of Life (learning the Facts of Life)

Learning the Facts of Life.

What about this one, another classic!!

Green acres is the place for me.

Farm livin' is the life for me.

Land spreadin' out so far and wide

Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I'd rather stay.

I get allergic smelling hay.

I just adore a penthouse view.

Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

...The chores.

...The stores.

...Fresh air.

...Times Square

You are my wife.

Good bye, city life.

Green Acres we are there.

Everybody knows that this is a tie between Green Acres and

the Beverly Hillbillies.

And this one:

Here we come

Walking down the street

We get the funniest looks from

Everyone we meet.

Hey, hey we're the Monkees,

and people say we monkey around.

But we're too busy singing,

to put anybody down.

We go wherever we want to,

Do what we like to do.

We don't have time to get restless,

There's always something new.

Hey, hey we're the Monkees,

and people say we monkey around.

But we're too busy singing,

to put anybody down.

We're just trying to be friendly,

Come watch us sing and play.

We're the young generation,

And we got something to say.

Hey, hey we're the Monkees,

You never know where we'll be found.

So you'd better get ready,

We may be comin to your town.

Hey, hey we're the Monkees,

and people say we monkey around.

But we're too busy singing,

to put anybody down.

OK, I've read all of your suggestions and I'm ready to rule. The winners, in no particular order, are:

Barney Miller

Peter Gunn

Flintstones

South Park

Secret Agent Man (From Secret Agent, AKA Danger Man, in Canada)

Hill Street Blues

Law and Order (original version only)

I reserve the right to revise my list as I see fit.

No mention of the Brady Bunch???

Here's the story of a lovely lady

who was bringing up three very lovely girls

all of them had hair of gold, like their mother.

the youngest one in curls.

Here's the story of a man named Brady

Who was living with three boys of his own.

They were four men living all together

yet they were all alone

Till the one day when the lady met this fellow.

And they knew that it was much more than a hunch,

That this group must somehow form a family,

That's the way we all became the Brady bunch.

The Brady bunch, the Brady bunch.

That's the way we became the Brady bunch.

I'm going back to my youth and voting for the Duck Tales theme song.

Life is like a hurricane here in Duckburg

Race cars, lasers, aeroplanes - it's a duck blur

You might solve a mystery or rewrite history

Duck Tales, Oo-oo

Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo

D-d-d-danger, watch behind you - there's a stranger out to find you

What to do? Just grab onto some Duck Tales, oo-oo!

Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

When it seems they're headed for the final curtain

Bold deduction never fails, that's for certain

The worst of messes become successes!

Duck Tales, Oo-oo

Tales of derring-do, bad and good luck tales, oo-oo

Not pony tails or cotton tails but Duck Tales, oo-oo!

It just occured to me that The Bannana Splits song should be considered. After all, if it's good enough for Bob Marley, it's good enough for me.

(For those who are confused, listen to Buffalo Soldier and tell me that isn't an homage to the Splits.)

For the record, I was Fleegle.
