I was two, going on three. First real book I ever read was "John F. Kennedy, a Boy's Life", sort of a biography of JFK's earliest years written for third graders. From that point on, he was my "boyhood hero" and probably why I am a democrat still.

Even now, to think about it is to have your heart broken all over again.

Rest in Peace JFK.

I heard about when I was getting on the school bus after being released from school.  The bus driver told us.

Pretty close to the same, for me. We were told in school, though. And in 1968, we all got brought to the auditorium to watch on TV.

I was at school and the announcement came over the loudspeaker. We were all scared little kids. The teacher started to cry. They sent us home and I was afraid the world was ending.

No that would make me conservative. Which as we all know is far from the case.
