In a joint meeting today with the RAW and SmackDown rosters in the United Kingdom, in Sheffield, Vince McMahon announced that within the next several weeks, a new drug testing policy will be implemented in which performance enhancing drugs, such as steroids, etc., recreational drugs, as well as abuse of prescription drugs will be banned.

In addition to the new drug testing procedure, there will also be an emphasis on cardiovascular examinations.

The specifics of the drug policy will be announced over the next several weeks. More details to follow.

good for the WWE... With all the past drug related deaths, and with the most recent being a result of past drug use, it's about damn time. However, the policy is only as good as it is enforced, so i guess we'll have to stay tuned!

Its obvious that this is a response to the death of Eddie Guerrero. There have been numerous times in the past where McMahon has stated it isn't his business to test employees of his company beause its not a real sport. He compared it to circus performers being tested for steroids. I like wrestling, and hope this will take an effect, but its unlikely.

This is most likely a pre-emptive strike against the government getting involved, after Guererro's death. Whether it's a "real sport" or not, a lot of kids watch it and get ideas from it so a mandatory policy of testing WILL be coming one way or another.

Is that a typo? Didn't they really mean "required"?
