CBS has chosen to use their HD cameras on the following 3 games this weekend:

indy at cinci -- no brainer.

oakland at washington -- HUH?

jets at denver -- double HUH?

those freaking morons pick those games over the bills @ chargers? WTF?

it's pathetic. truly pathetic.

It's the end of the world as we know it...and I feel fine.

Maybe those 3 games are being shown in the most markets.

Just a hunch.

no schitt. it just sucks that CBS is such a mickey mouse network that they can't spring for enough HD cameras to cover all of the games like FOX does.

the "good" games of the week are sacrificed for the almighty NY, DC, and california markets.

but thanks for the unnecessary slam. <_<

San Diego is in California, which is why I was really hoping the game would be in HD...

You are correct...The Oak at Wash and Jets at Denver are the

two CBS nationally televised games....

This explains my complaint about Albany channel 6 having the Jets game on their slate. Nice flexibility, CBS, locked into a schedule drawn up in April.

Sorry to disappoint everyone, but it is hardly a new concept that the networks highlight the best teams, and right now Denver is the 2d best team in the AFC.

What is so special about the Bills v. Chargers game? Two .500 teams on the outside looking in at the playoffs. Who outside of those two small markets cares about this game? I would like to see the Bills too, but this probably wasn't a close call for the network guys.

So you're saying Jets vs Denver is a more interesting game for the general public than Bills/Chargers?

I'd disagree -- the Jets will, in all liklihood, lose. The Bills/Chargers game should be better and has playoff implications for both sides.

Yes, that is what I'm saying. I believe that the general public prefers to see a) well known teams and b) a successful team, rather than what may or may not be a more competitive game between two non-playoff teams. (Let's remember that the Chargers are 10 point favorites here, it's no guarantee that this will be a better game than Den-NYJ)

I wouldn't feel that way if given the choice personally, but it's the case for casual fans. The network decisions are based on dollars and cents. What game is going to generate better ratings in Memphis or Portland or other non local cities? That's the game that they show.

It is amazing that Fox can do all of their games in HD, and CBS cannot. Now, I know CBS does a couple of games on Saturday in HD, but does anyone really know why CBS cannot due all of their NFL games in Hd?

They don't have the hardware (cameras, etc) to cover the games. Ridiculous, IMHO, but that's what they say.

Nobody outside of Buffalo thinks the Bills have a chance at winning this game. So if they're forced to show a game in which one team "doesn't have a chance" at winning the game they'll go with the team from the largest market in the country.

That being said I can't believe that CBS only has the capability of doing 3 HD games each week. That's just sad.

Actually I think CBS only does ONE game on Saturday. They are so behind the curve in HD for all programming than their network competitors, and I do not know why. Maybe they don't see it as a worthwhile investment right now. All I know is that while I was hoping they'd be caught up to Fox for the NFL this year, they sure as shootin better have all their games in HD next year if the NFL expects me to re-up for the D* premium HD package <_<
