Buftex Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I am currently in 4th place in my leauge. At 6-4, I am tied with two others. Three of the four losses I have have, came by 5 points or less! Points are a premium for me. I am looking at my roster, and wondering if I am screwing up by automatically playing my best players, as opposed to playing the match-ups? This week, my #1 QB, Carson Palmer plays in Indianapolis, against what has been a very tough Colts defense (or is it?). My #2 guy is Byron Leftwhich, going up against a pretty mediocre (at best) Titans defense, in Tennessee. Which guy would you play? All things equal, I wouldn't even think of sitting Palmer. Leftwhich puts up average fantasy numbers, while Palmer is a stud...the one very bad week Palmer had was against the Steelers defense...help? Quote

drnykterstein Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Always. Play. Your. Studs. 505453[/snapback] No don't. But at least this week, I think palmer is a good play. Willis McGahee is one of my studs, but I always at least consider sitting him on the bench. Sometimes I wish that I had followed through. Quote

You'll end up outsmarting yourself if you try to pick and choose when to play them. Pick and choose other guys but always play your best players. Quote
BILLS4LIFE Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I agree about always playing your studs. Even though it is Indy...you just never know. Quote
BuckeyeBill Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Palmer has great motivation to play well in this game. Definitely start him. Leftwich will not put up 300 yards and 4 TD, but Palmer has that ability each week no matter the defense. Quote
drnykterstein Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 is clinton portis considered a stud? well this week I am sitting him in one league in favor of greg jones. come back in 3 days to judge me. Quote
Buftex Posted November 20, 2005 Author Posted November 20, 2005 Allright, I am going with Palmer, you guys talked me into it! All the hype about that mathcup is making me a little nervous.... Quote

You can't predict that kind of thing, I'll say that. Quote
