40+ Year Bills Fan
If Penn State and OSU both end this week with a victory, who will be the Big 10 Champion? Penn State beat OSU but they will have identical Big 10 records.

40+ Year Bills Fan
Thx KzooMike...that is what I understand the situation to be. But, I live in Columbus and I keep reading they would be co-champs. Just did not make sense to me.
HtownBillsFan
Co-champs. But Penn State gets the BCS bowl bid. Doesnt matter that PSU beat OSU (except for BCS bid), its the record that matters. sh------- but thats how it is.
40+ Year Bills Fan
Well, I can only hope that PSU wins and OSU loses.... About time the Nittany Lions are back in the rankings and they are shown as #4 in the nation. It has been a while.
e-dog
I hope those same Nittany Lions get Miami or Notre Dame in a bowl game also.
/dev/null
Penn State has to beat MSU in order to win the Big 10, otherwise the winner of Ohio State/Michigan wins it Penn State and Ohio State are both 6-1 in conference play. Michigan is 5-2. If Penn State and Ohio State both win, both would be 7-1. Penn State won the Head to Head, therefore Penn State wins the Big 10. If Penn State and Michigan both win, Penn State would be 7-1. Michigan and Ohio State would both be 6-2, therefore Penn State wins the Big 10 with Michigan 2nd by virtue of the head to head win over Ohio State If Penn State loses, and Ohio State wins, Ohio State would be 7-1. Penn State would finish 2nd at 6-2. If Penn State loses and Michigan wins, all 3 teams would be 6-2. Michigan wins the Big 10 having beaten both Ohio State and Penn State. Penn State would finish 2nd having won the head to head with Ohio State

R. Rich
Whatever happens, this season has far exceeded my expectations. All I hoped for PSU was that their freshman would have an active role, and they sure have.

BuckeyeBill
Here's the scenerio. Two important games. OSU vs MICH Penn St. vs Mich St OSU win, Penn State win - OSU and PSU share the title together. OSU win, Penn State lose - OSU has the title outright. MICH win, Penn State lose - Split title between all three teams MICH win, Penn State win - Penn State has the title outright Michigan can not have the title outright. There is no tie-breakers for the Big 10 Title. The title is split all the time. Even in 2002 when OSU won the National Title against Miami, the Big 10 title was still split because another team in the Big 10 went undefeated in the Big 10. You know, the fan that doesn't sound like an idiot talking trash before games are played.
Mark VI
Nice Job, Joe Pa. I liked Penn St. long before they ever entered the Big 10. They played great this year and were one play short of a perfect regular season. After several years of stumbling, they righted the ship and will probably continue to be a force for years to come. Can't believe how many talented young players they have. Excellent recruiting.

Excellent recruiting. 507284[/snapback] The defense will take a major hit in terms of starters (all but the LBs are seniors), but will have plenty of decent athletes ready to step in. The one thing I'll be looking for in the early signings is a good crop of offensive linemen. They really need that.
