Buffalo Baumer Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 In all seriousness, has he ever mentioned this as a possibility for the future. He cares about the city, has the $$ and I think it would a refreshing option from the political goons who continue to try and run this city. Any thoughts??? Has he ever been approached on this topic??
VABills Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 There is a push to get him to run for congress.
Thailog80 Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Didnt he stiff a bunch of venders in Buffalo when his business failed?

He could easily win a U.S. Rep seat.
aussiew Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Didnt he stiff a bunch of venders in Buffalo when his business failed? Yes - so how could one think that JK "cares" about the city of Buffalo?
Mark VI Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 The Buffalo Mayor race was yesterday, won by Byron Brown. I see our Bills play by play man, John Murphy is now the husband of the new Orchard Park town supervisor. Mary Travers used to be a reporter on Channel 7, where Murphy is still the Sports director. She always seemed like a sharp cookie. Good for her.
drnykterstein Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 did anyone stop to think that maybe Jim Kelly does not want to be mayor...
Bill from NYC Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Yes - so how could one think that JK "cares" about the city of Buffalo? 498522 Because I went to that club twice with the guys you met at RWS and the place was simply stacked with hot looking women.
Buffalo Baumer Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 I am not saying that Kelly is the Answer for mayor, I was wondering if the topic was ever brought up to him. Second of all, by the time Brown finshes off all the ass kissing and paybacks to the same ole people, the city is going to be worse off than before if that is even possible. What we need is a business person to run this city - someone with no political ties at all. After that, I would give Kelly a shot (even though it's some wishfull thinking).
Trilat Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Kelly was one of the toughest sonsabitches to ever play QB. That being said, the guy isn't exactly rocket science material. We've got enough mentally challenged people running the country as it is...
granitestatebillsbackers Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 There is a push to get him to run for congress. 498484 I love what Kelly did for this franchise and admire him as an athlete and a philanthropist, but COME ON! Oh wait...you voted Hilarity Clinton into office, so maybe this isn't so far-fetched.

Not the brightest bulb on the tree.
Buffalo Baumer Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 Whoever said you had to be smart to run for mayor? I would rather have a leader than some cookie cutter follower who says whatever they think it will take to get elected.
SDS Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 it's good to know there are enough jock sniffers in the world to make such a scenario feasible...
JoeF Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 How about Tom Donahoe for Mayor.... Possible Campaign Slogans...Save a franchise vote for Tom...or the Devil made me vote for Tom... He'd probably sign all law enforcement officers and no trash collectors...
