Mark Vader Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Sorry I am late in posting this. The month of November kicks off the Holiday season for big movies as it does for Christmas shoppers. There will be comedy, action, drama, and plenty of family fare. The race for Oscar will begin to intensify as well, as we get closer to the end of the year. Here is what's in store for us..... Family films will be aplenty and none will be more anticipated than "Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire". In this 4th installment of the series Harry deals with the Quidditch World Cup, the Tri-Wizard Tournament, and the return of Lord Voldemort. The cast returns intact with Gary Oldman & Jason Issacs back from previous films. Also Brendan Gleeson, Miranda Richardson, & Ralph Fiennes enter the saga for the first time. Disney enters the season with a non-Pixar computer animated film in "Chicken Little". Zach Braff is the voice of the titular character, as he once again tries to tell all his farm animal friends that the sky is falling, or is it something else? Columbia Pictures aims for family dollars twice this month. First with the space fantasy adventure "Zathura". Based on the book by the same author of "Jumanji", this story follows the same formula, except it is all in outer space. Then there's the re-make of "Yours, Mine, and Ours" with Dennis Quaid & Rene Russo. They play two widowers, who meet, fall in love, and marry. The catch: She has 8 kids, he has 10!! This movie aims for the "Cheaper by the Dozen" crowd. So like that film, expect the same kind of humor, and also like that film it will have absolutely nothing to do with the original film. There will be plenty of movies for adults too: "Walk The Line", the biopic on Johnny Cash stars Joaquin Phoenix as the man in black, and Reese Witherspoon as June Carter Cash. Phoenix looks the part and actually sings the part too. Can this movie do for Phoenix what "Ray" did for Jamie Foxx? Speaking of Jamie Foxx, he and Jake Gylenhall star in "Jarhead". Sam Mendes' latest film is about a group of marines trying to stay motivated in the Gulf War. 50 Cent goes the Eminem route with his acting debut in "Get Rich or Die Tryin'". The story of a drug dealer who turns to rap music to get himself out of the dark world he is in. Director Chris Columbus brings "Rent" to the big screen. The popular musical stars Roasario Dawson & Taye Diggs. "Derailed" stars Jennifer Aniston & Clive Owen as two married people who while having an affair, are blackmailed by a violent criminal. John Cusack & Billy Bob Thornton star in "The Ice Harvest", as two men who attempt a heist on the mob on Christmas Eve. Ryan Reynolds prepares to get the high school crush who turned him down in "Just Friends". In limited release this month, George Clooney & Matt Damon star in "Syriana". A "Traffic" style film that delves into the world of the CIA. IDBillzFan Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 A former Marine I know saw "Jarhead" and said if you weren't a Marine, the movie won't make sense. Or more to the point, "It's a Marine thing. You wouldn't understand." So I'm not gonna bother with that flick. In fact, I can't really see any movies based on that premise. I can't see "Yours, Mine and Ours" because its an 18-kid widower thing, and I wouldn't understand. I can't see "Rent" because it's an AIDS thing, and I wouldn't understand. Plus, I don't rent, I own. I can't see "Get Rich or Die Tryin' " because it's a thug drug-n-rap thing, and I wouldn't understand. I can't see "Chicken Little" because it's clearly a fowl thing, and I wouldn't understand. I guess basically I need to wait until someone makes a film about a white guy with a wife and one child who just live life every day with nothing exciting happening beyond watching their child develop. Let me know when that movie hits the streets. What am I telling YOU this for? It's a 40-something married with child white guy thing. You wouldn't understand.

SilverNRed Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 1. Everyone buy Batman Begins on DVD. 2. Wait for King Kong to come out next month.
Just Jack Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 I've got a sneak preview pass for this movie.... Kiss Kiss Bang Bang From what I can gather, it's not a porn film.
Mark Vader Posted November 7, 2005 Author Posted November 7, 2005 SilverNRed Posted Yesterday, 03:30 PM 1. Everyone buy Batman Begins on DVD. 2. Wait for King Kong to come out next month. I have Batman Begins on dvd. That movie was one of the best this summer. King Kong looks awesome. Still, the upcoming Harry Potter movie and The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe look very good too. I also saw the preview for Munich, it looks powerful.
