jester43 Posted November 2, 2005 Author Posted November 2, 2005 ah fuggit: Bruschi Is AFC Defensive Player of Week 49 minutes ago New England's Tedy Bruschi, returning to the lineup eight months after a stroke, is the AFC's defensive player of the week. Bruschi had 10 tackles Sunday in the Patriots' 21-16 win over Buffalo. He played nearly full-time in his first game since the Super Bowl. Other AFC players honored were Denver quarterback Jake Plummer (offense) and Houston's Jerome Mathis (special teams). The NFC players of the week were Tiki Barber of the New York Giants (offense); Charles Tillman of Chicago (defense) and Joe Nedney of San Francisco (special teams).

I am astounded. Astounded.
drnykterstein Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 hehehe.. thats really funny. especially since he only had 2 takles and 5 assists.
Mikie2times Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 You have to be kidding, he wasn't even in the top 3 defensive performances in the game, let alone the league. I know it's not his fault the NFL and media are giving him a ball washing every 5 seconds but this crap is really making hate Bruschi.
taterhill Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Ohhhhhhhhhh Tedy quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen..anyone that had any kind of turnover, sack, or tackle for a loss...deserves more than Sir Tedy(I heard the English ROyal family knighted him)
Johnny Coli Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Bruschi had 10 tackles Sunday in the Patriots' 21-16 win over Buffalo. Somebody should notify the NFL about this huge discrepancy in their official game stats. Buff/NE game stats He's in there...you kind of have to scroll down a ways to see his defensive impact on the game. But he's in there. For real.
bills_fan Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I'm sure Deltha O'Neal is thrilled, after picking off Favre twice to seal the game for Cinci.
Rubes Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 How 'bout some props, baby. Come on now. Send me some love.
drnykterstein Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Can we sue the AP or something for lying to us about his 10 tackles?
Billsjunkie Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 I love the NCAA more and more everyday. This is a joke. THE BCS is more dead on than this mess.
Billsjunkie Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Hell Schobel even had a much better game.
DeeRay Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 And Deeray told you so last week when one poster posed the question of who would be this week's AFC def. player. Moral of the story? Deeray may be the father of all pricks... (I'm a prick's prick) but, he is always right!!!
drnykterstein Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Everbody find some national media writer and write them now. This has to be exposed.

But he's in there. For real. 493897 It makes sense, Bruschi gets 2 tackles, 5 assist, 0 Sacks, 0 INT's and is named AFC player of the week. The NFC representative is Charles Tillman, he made 6 Tackles, 1 assist, 0 sacks, and had an INT returned for a touchdown in overtime. If awards are given for sentimental reasons why not give Willis the comeback player of the year award last year? I thought the actual NFL was better then ESPN, apparently not.
Ramius Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 (edited) Charles tillman (DB-Chi) had 6 tackles and the game winning INT return for a TD in OT... and he's the NFC POtW 3 other players (scored defensive TD's this week) 3 players (odell thurman, deltha oneal, rashean mathis) had 2 INT's this week Warren Sapp had 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and a forced fumble 5 players had 10 tackles for real this week, and 2 of those players had a turnover (fumble recovery or INT) as well yet bruschi was better than all of them? Must have been his 1,467 "hits" he recorded against the Bills Edited November 2, 2005 by Ramius
JinVA Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Charles tillman (DB-Chi) had 6 tackles and the game winning INT return for a TD in OT. 493912 We're talking AFC. Tillman was the NFC player of the week.
