The Poojer Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 the discussion here is personal misheard lyrics, I know there are websites out there full of them, but what are your personal lyrical faux pas' that might even continue today? any elton john song for me, not to mention the one line from Meatloafs 2 out of 3 ain't bad that always got me until maybe 2 years ago...."...baby we can talk all nite, but then again it aint snowin'....." I think the most misheard lyrics have to come from the Marvin Gaye song 'Got to Give it Up' For years I just couldn't figure out what he was singing in that one ... I used to go out to parties And stand around 'Cause I was too nervous To really get down And my body yearned to be free So I got up on the floor and found Someone to choose me No more standin' along the side walls Now I've got myself together, baby And I'm havin' a ball Long as you prove it There's always a chance Somebody watches I'm gonna make romance With your body, ooo baby, you dance all night Get down and prove it, feel all right (repeat and fade): Keep on dancin' Got to give it up 493671[/snapback]
eSJayDee Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 Speaking of Elton John, the song he did w/ KiKi Dee, I thought he/she/they were saying "I've got you hiding my socks", rather than "I've got your heart in my sights"
