MadBuffaloDisease Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Haloti Ngata (We're not worthy!) would be a good choice.
seq004 Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 See we do this every year and apparently TD reads the board. We all notice how poor our offensive line is but as the year goes on we start noticing other positions of needs and the players that can fill those needs. Our first priority should be the offensive line. I don't care if TD doesn't think it's all that bad. That's half the problem right there. He never thinks it's a problem so he tries to get by with free agents like Anderson. I'm not saying this guy won't be a good DT is this league or that's not a need of this team but IMO the offensive line is as it has been since Kelly left bad. Just plain bad Tom. If we want a young QB to start like JP or whoever we have to make sure they have the protection that will allow them to grow.
The Jokeman Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 I'd rather the Bills draft 6-7, 261-pound defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka from Boston College. And some road hogs that can pass block. 493811 Kiwanuka has struggled a little this year, that said I fully expect him to be a top 5 pick and out of our reach. I suspect he'll be another be Michael Strahan/Jason Taylor/Julius Peppers.
Pete Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 I love all this draft talk. We are gonna have 4 high picks this year! We should be able to fill many needs with the draft. We also should get some nice compensation for Williams and Bledsoe
TigerJ Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 I'm certainly intrigued by Ngata, and was before I read this thread. He's strong, but that Terne Nandi as a 230 LB has a better bench press and squat. I'd like to see Ngata get stronger.

The line run blocks well at times, and pass blocks well at times, and next year when MW and CV get healthy and the talent gets upgraded via FA we should be ok. I agree that other holes in the past have often taken precedents over the offensive line but we need to decide what is the best way to upgrade both sides of the ball. The FA DT market this off-season is nearly nonexistent, and nearly every year the offensive line has some talented FA's available.
John from Riverside Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Kazoo is right here.... The priority in the 1st round should be a run stuffing DT who can also get some inside pressure..... How about this....when was the last time we took an OL in the SECOND round?

No compensation is given under those circumstances.
SACTOBILLSFAN Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 I like Jesse Mahelona from tennessee a little more than Ngata. Only because Ngata is more of a pass rushing DT while Mahelona is more of a run stuffer. But either would be fine in my book.
Crap Throwing Monkey Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Count me on the bandwagon...just so I can say "Ya gotta Ngata!"

Moreso Williams since our run D has suffered and he did get a big contract.

DL makes so much more sense, from the cap allocation perspective as well as maximizing the bang for the buck.
Ralonzo Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Olof Pilar's stock has really fallen. Maybe he'll resurface on some draft boards by next spring.

SACTOBILLSFAN Posted November 6, 2005 Posted November 6, 2005 Olof Pilar 496340 That sounds like an ethnic dish.
