Lori Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Non-contact injury; looked like his right leg just gave out. (Remember Bryson in his rookie camp? Kinda looked like that.) For his sake, I hope it's not that bad. But if it is, since Duce is at the other end of the state now, the Iggles are down to approximately 40% of their 2003 rushing total.... I want to see the scrubs play a LOT tomorrow night, if only because it means the starters are safely on the sideline....
Lori Posted August 21, 2004 Author Posted August 21, 2004 Their passing game looks pretty good, though - first play from scrimmage was an 80-yard TD to TO, and McNabb just hit another 60-yarder to Freddie Mitchell. I'm starting to understand the Ravens/Neon Deion rumor.
Nanker Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Nice sentiment Lori. The prime directive of preseason is to emerge unscathed. Bumps and bruises are ok, but breaks and tares will kill you. Let's hope the old injury bug skips everybody but Drew Rosenhaus. I wouldn't mind if he threw his shoulder out while reaching for his cell phone.

jarthur31 Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 If Buckhalter's injury is bad, we're gonna hear "trade WM to Eagles for Kearse" pretty soon on this board! Wow. Sad, really.
Wacka Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 I heard out for the season. Patellar tendon or ligament.

Rayzer32 Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 I want that McNabb guy... 1916 Didn't anyone see the McNabb INT that got returned for a TD? It was a horrible pass. Who wants injury prone Kearse. He got injured AGAIN on his first play in the game. He did return later however.
ATBNG Posted August 21, 2004 Posted August 21, 2004 Anyone else think that the Eagles are atrociously overrated? I know it is pretty much potluck in the NFC, but they seem to me to be adding big one-dimensional names at the expense of losing team guys. These two injuries (ND and Correll) now make me feel even worse about their chances.
Lori Posted August 21, 2004 Author Posted August 21, 2004 I heard out for the season. Patellar tendon or ligament. 1880 That's kinda what I thought when I saw it... but since I'm no doctor, I hesitated posting a guess before the "official" word came out. Thanks for the update. Feel bad for the kid - he shredded an ACL a couple of years ago, IIRC. And this shows me one thing - WE NEED AT *LEAST* TWO RBs! Every single player in the league is one play away from a career-ending injury...

Every single player in the league is one play away from a career-ending injury... 2005 Well said, Lori. The second Buckhalter went down, I thought "he blew out the knee". You could see his knee just give out. It happens so often when they try to plant hard in order to make a cut. That was just sad. He ripped up his other knee 2 years ago. Having both Henry and MaGahee for a while is a great "problem", even with the bogus media distractions. I even like some plays I've seen from Simonton in camp. Depth is king in this league. In the Cap age, it's usually a rarity. Ask the Panthers, with S. Davis and D. Foster.
