I miss the late 70's - late 80's ..
The Tomcat Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 My first concert.....AC/DC, Yingvay Malmstein....7th row floor, Erie PA... 9th grade......my ears rang for 2 days!! (Kinda like the Motley Crew concert I just went to in Darien Lake-but thats because I'm just old)

It's hard to find good music nowadays, but it's out there - you just have to look. Ayreon ( http://www.ayreon.com ) and Shadow Gallery ( http://www.shadowgallery.com ) are two examples of great bands that get zero airplay. CW

There are plenty of great bands around, but you aren't going to come across them by waiting for the "DJ" at your local rock station to discover them for you. Those days are long gone.
Simon Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 One of the greatest albums ever. Yep it was almost as good as High Voltage. And almost as good as Let There Be Rock. And almost as good as Highway to Hell. And almost as good as Dirty Deeds. OK so maybe it was as good as Dirty Deeds, but I don't think it was as good as the other 3. Cya
RuntheDamnBall Posted October 26, 2005 Posted October 26, 2005 1) Eagles' - Greatest Hits (28 million)5) Billy Joel's - Greatest Hits (21 million) 486738[/snapback] Displaying once again, that America's taste in music sucks.

Funny that these songs would barely be played on the radio when the album came out but now they're on variety stations...

At one time Ozzy was viewed with much distain by many, but seem relatively harmless now.

rastabillz Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I got to see AC/DC with Bon Scott at the Aud. They opened for Aerosmith. I also saw the Back in Black tour. I love that album, not a bad song on it imo.

Simon Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 And Powerage - you forgot Powerage. Nope, left it off intentionally. For some reason that one never really did it for me. Aside from Riff-Raff I thought most of the stuff on it just seemed like something they had whipped together just to get an album out. Or maybe hte other 4 were soooo good that Powerage paled in comparison. Either way I just couldn't add it to the list. Cya

The first few (maybe even several) albums were killer. After about 1975 he started sucking big time...putting out pop disguised as hard rock disguised as music. A shame, really.
HopsGuy Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 I won a t-shirt at Cole's 12 years ago because I knew what year that album came out. It's a promotional shirt from Galliano, that says "Get High" on the front and has a recipe for a Key Lime High on the back. Still got it. Workin' double time On the seduction line She's one of a kind, she's just mine all mine Wanted no applause Just another course She made a meal out of me and came back for more Had to cool me down To take another round Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing Now the walls were shakin' The earth was quakin' My mind was achin' And we were makin' it and you... Shook me all night long And they said Dylan was a modern-day poet.
Wacka Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 Forgot the first stanza: She was a fast machine She kept her motor clean She was the best damn woman I had ever seen She had the sightless eyes Telling me no lies Knockin' me out with those American thighs Taking more than her share Had me fighting for air She told me to come but I was already there
