Guest RabidBillsFanVT Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Daily Show with Jon Stewart: Pat Buchanan: "The neo-conservatives ought to be fired... they persuaded Cheney and Rumsfeld to buy into it, and the President signed off on it (the war in Iraq)" He says that we went through with this IDIOTIC war and got side-tracked from the REAL war, the War on Terror, and he also mentions Kerry's vote for war as wrong as well. Damnit, where was this kind of reasoning before we went slogging through Iraq? "This president has led us into this debacle." -Buchanan "The neo-conservatives are finished." -Buchanan The smart foreign policy of Reagan has been replaced by embarassment, obviously, and Buchanan recognizes that. Good for him; it's the only time we will EVER really fully agree EVER, I think. I am shellshocked that he said what he did! WOW!
OnTheRocks Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Buchanan will say anything to sell his book.
John Adams Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Buchanon has been very critical of the current administration. It's disgusting to see what the Republicans are willing to let Bush get away with, and how easily they turned their back on principle. But look no further than this board to see the people lining up behind Bush.
checkmate Posted September 18, 2004 Posted September 18, 2004 Gone is Reagan's "City upon a hill" vision for our country. I guess because countries did not want to emulate us as Reagan had hoped, we need to force our way of life on others.
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 I considered myself farther left than you, yet I agree. "Bush's Folly" has to be cleaned up, and it isn't going to be accomplished by Bush. America will eventually wisen up soon or later. Right now we only have one viable choice for change. You have to remain positive, yet wise enough to know when to set a new course. Time is not on our side to alter millions of voters. We need to tack, no wind around and way off our lay. Let's leave staying the course to football teams.
PastaJoe Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 If Buchanan felt so strongly about the lack of a conservative voice in the issue debate, he should have ran for president himself this year. To complain at this point but say Kerry is no better doesn't really change the dynamics of the debate or the election.
Alaska Darin Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 America will eventually wisen up soon or later. 38358[/snapback] Doubtful, especially as long as so many of you see John Kerry as "change."
