Dan Gross Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Why was he in the shotgun? Oh yeah, to buy him time. Thanks again, OL. 484664 Actually, many QB's hate the shotgun because they lose time having to watch for the ball. On a regular snap, the D is "that much closer" from the start, but he is able to watch the D from the snap until he finished dropping back. By the time he drops back he should have some idea where the pressure is coming from. Not only that but the ball is placed in his hands 'ready to go.' On a shotgun snap, he has to take his eyes off the D while the ball is headed his way, then he has to 'adjust' the ball in his hand until it is right. And, of course, there's always a much higher risk of a bad snap with the shotgun...
East Brady Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 If Jimbo was still here they would have had to put a straight jacket and muzzle on him.It is about time this line is called out on the carpet. No player has really done it until now. Maybe it will have a positive effect. It sure as hell can't be any worse. 484765 Nice try but jimbo was an actual NFL caliber qb..He could make all the throws...
In space no one can hear Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 i wouldnt block for his ass anymore, thats all this team needs 484120 Thats just the point they didn't block for him!!! Hell...they didn't block for that school girl Losman either!!
CoachChuckDickerson Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I just heard/saw the quote on TV. He seemed more focused on talking about how good their D-Line was rather than "ripping" his O-Line. Rather matter-of-fact in his commentary. 484248 No, we need to talk the quote out of context and then accuse him of RIPPING his mates. That is how it works here, you should know that by now you aren't new.
