OGTEleven Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 My current running backs are: Julius Jones Brian Westbrook Tatum Bell Bettis My Current QBs are: Aaron Brooks Jake Delhomme The trade offer is: Marcel Shipp & Carson Palmer for Delhomme and either Bell or Westbrook. Jones is a possibility but the other owner is afraid of his current injury. Note: Bell and Jones have the same bye week so I'm a little iffy on Westbrook leaving. Quote
drnykterstein Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 ... do you play delhome/brooks based on matchups? if you do that the combo should be as productive as palmer. plus palmer isn't a homerun. he has both games against pittsburgh and the raven yet to play. and losing one of your running backs might hurt. personally, i wouldnt do it, unless you feel shipp can replace the rb you are losing. Gavin in Va Beach Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Your trade seems to say "I sacrifice RB points and hope to make up for it with QB points". That's not a bad reason to trade, but I don't think you are getting good value. I have Palmer on one of my teams and although he is a fantasy stud right now and ranked #2 in my league, Delhomme is only 6 spots behind him. In fact Delhomme has scored better than Palmer the last 4 games and would probably be tied with him if he didn't have a bad week #2. With Carolina getting a bye this week Delhomme is expected to be fine by week #8 and Brooks should be able to carry you through this week against St Lou. You don't gain enough at QB, IMO. RB could end up hurting you if Shipp continues to underperform and either Bettis or Jones gets injured again. Quote
R. Rich Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Keep what you have. Delhomme throws picks, but also throws for a lot of yards and TDs. Palmer doesn't compensate for what you'd lose in RB productivity. Quote
OGTEleven Posted October 20, 2005 Author Posted October 20, 2005 Thanks for the replies all. I should have pointed out that we only start two RBs. You may have taken that into account since most leagues do it that way. My basic thought is that Tatum Bell is really coming on and pretty much gives me 3 strong RBs. Someone has to be on the bench (you can bet I'l pick the wrong one every stinking week). You're all probably right that the injury concern and/or the lack of a major boost from Palmer makes it tough to do. My real problem is WR but it seems many teams have the same problem. Quote
drnykterstein Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 My real problem is WR but it seems many teams have the same problem. 481533[/snapback] WR can usually be semi fixed with free agents. Is Robert Ferguson or Kevin Curtis still there. I know there were both there 3 weeks ago. More WR's will show up on the radar. Pick up Ike Bruce if someone released him, he'll be healthy and putting up points in 2 weeks. Players like marty booker and Justin Mccarins are good 1 week fill-ins if you need em. Quote
drnykterstein Posted October 21, 2005 Posted October 21, 2005 Nate Burleson is coming back from injury if he's available, get him. Quote
