SDS Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/1390088.stm Read CaWingNut's post in a another thread and lo and behold there they are - square watermelons! Not sure why we care, but that is pretty cool in my easily amused mind.
Campy Posted October 18, 2005 Posted October 18, 2005 Each melon sells for 10,000 yen, equivalent to about $83. It is almost double, or even triple, that of a normal watermelon. I couldn't imagine paying $27-42 for a square one, much less a round one. I guess the Japanese are really into watermelons?
