Solitary Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Can't be this much worse because of missing Fat Pat can it? We seem to get hit for a lot of long runs rather than steady gains. Is it our scheme? Whats so different this year???
Stussy109 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 There is a 40lb difference b/w Anderson and P. Williams. Tim Andershon is getting shoved around in there.
Dennis in NC Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 It seems to me that it is the scheme, i.e., players blitzing so much that they lose sight of the basics.
Astrobot Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Dennis is right. The zone blitzes we use are a high-risk, high-reward type of scheme. We look great 3 out of 4 times, and look like eediots on the other.
Fixxxer Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 We run blitz so much that when in a couple of plays guys take poor angles the RB is in the secondary in a hurry.
Buffalo_Stampede Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Ill tel you exactly why our RUn defense sux, Tim Anderson and Justin Bannan. They arent eating up blocks and our LB's, who over pursue most of the time anyway, are easy targets for big offensive lineman. I wouldnt mind trading for a huge fat ass right now. Someone can be had for a 3rd rounder. Edwards is a good replacement for Williams, although he is done now, but its that 3rd DT in the rotation that stinks. On almost every big run Ive seen, you can see Anderson or Bannan getting pushed back.
