Simon Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 The same BB.com page announcing the signing of a mysterious DT also had this blurb: "Programming Note: NFL Network’s resident “draft guru”, Mike Mayock, sits-down with Bills President and General Manager Tom Donahoe Thursday on NFL Total Access. Hosted by Rich Eisen alongside Emmitt Smith, Rod Woodson, Lincoln Kennedy and Terrell Davis, NFL Total Access airs at 7:00 p.m. ET every Monday through Saturday." Mayock seems pretty solid and hopefully he'll do a good job with TD.
JoeF Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 NFL Network is showing the Exorcist???? You'd think at this time of year they would have enough programming.
Guest BackInDaDay Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 "Step right up!", shouts the carnival barker. Watch and learn boys, watch and learn.
BuffOrange Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 I just sat thru an hour of Lincoln Kennedy and Rod Woodson, who make Dan Marino and Boomer Esiason look like good analysts... No TD
MDH Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 No TD 474477 That's because he's supposed to be on at 7pm on Thursday.
eball Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 That's because he's supposed to be on at 7pm on Thursday. 474532 LOL. funniest thing i've read all night.

Rich Eisen is a fantastic host, Terrell davis is fantastic, I could go either way with Woodson or Kennedy, but they are better than any of the analysts they have on ESPN NFL live.

I do like the Total Access show though. ESPN should hire Shannon Sharpe. That guy cracks me up. I also like how he isn't afraid to voice an opinion. He tore into Kyle Boller on his radio show (on satellite) after the opening week, and I've seen him be just as brutally honest on the CBS show too.
BuffOrange Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Doh I like Eisen too, but Terrell Davis? I guess I don't hate him, he just seems a little like Tom Jackson in that he brings nothing to the table. Basically the only show worthwhile IMO is Edge matchup with Hodge & Jaworski...everything else I watch is mostly because I have no life.

I really like that show a lot. Like you, I enjoy the NFL Matchup show; Jaworski's game tape breakdowns are usually spot on.

I can live without the 5 replays of the same plays in slow-motion along with full blown orchestra, but that's probably just because they were featuring a Patriots win....again.

Simon Posted October 13, 2005 Author Posted October 13, 2005 you have to watch NFL matchup just to see what kind of ridiculous pimped-up outfit hoge is wearing. i've never seen a white guy fail so miserably in his attempt to look "hip." I used to love that show 5-10 years ago when it was all about football. Now it's all about guys seeing who can talk over each other. I don't notice much about Hoge's clothes, but I know he's become unbearable to listen to and I can't even watch the show any more. Which sucks because Jaworski is still good when I can catch him. I like Tom Jackson better than anyone on any of the networks. ESPN should hire Shannon Sharpe. That guy cracks me up Double agreement there. I don't know why Tom Jackson catches as much flak as he does around here. I think the guy is smart and realistic without getting caught up in all the network spit and polish that turns guys into big phonies. Did you catch Shannon Sharpe doing a Sunday night game a few weeks ago? I thought he was just as good live as he is in the studio. Which is to say very good and very refreshing. Anotehr show you should catch in additon to NFL's game of the week is their Playbook show. I think that's the one that has Solomon Wilcots (who I think is the very best in the business right now), Sharpe and maybe that Mike Mayock guy who is kinda starting to grow on me. Geez, I think I like about everybody on the NFL Network; they did a great job putting together their talent. Well, except for that Darren Horton. What an overpolished, stick up his ass, insufferable little turd. Every time I see his perfectly made-up face, his perfectly phony smile and his perfectly timbred voice I find myself scrambling for the remote. He's like a handsome John Clayton without the attitude. I don't know which one is a bigger dork. At least Clayton is sincere and accidentally funny. Cya
TheMadCap Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Terrell Davis is such a homer for the Broncos. I would like to see him and Woodson scrap it out though, they are always at each other's throats. I agree with the previous posters, TD is lame, and brings nothing to the table....
East Brady Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 If you guy's like football talk the show to listen to is Vic Carucci and Pat Kirwin on Sirius sattellite radio on saturday afternoon followed by Keyshawn Johnson and whoever the host is that show is actually pretty funny .....But without a doubt Vic and Pat are the best show lots of inside info.....
JinVA Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Doh 474550 Don't feel too bad. I did the exact same thing until around 7:30 then double checked this thread.
AKC Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Mayock seems pretty solid and hopefully he'll do a good job with TD. 474039 Mayock had been the lone bright spot on that program. Eisen is unwatchable, Lincoln Kennedy is way too Burl Ives and Woodson shows no sign of the effort he put in on the field- in fact I'd call him soft. At the same time, I'd love to see TD interviewed by the guy they "cut", Seth Joyner: "So Tom, why the bull sh-- naming your starting QB, the kid just isn't ready to play right now is he?" "Signing Jason Jefferson or even Weezy herself won't change the drop in run defense from 7th to 29th league-wide. Do you have any credible long term solution?"
