JCBoston Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Some new designs for the nickel were unveiled today, one of which features the ol' grazing bison on the back. http://www.usmint.gov/pressroom/index.cfm?...004NickelSeries

bobblehead Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 ...or put a stripe through the Buffalo. ...or put swords underneath the Buffalo. Oh well. Maybe next time.
USMCBillsFan Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Does anybody still collect the state quarters? I was balls to the wall on that for the first few years but it faded in my interest fast!!
BRH Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 I am still collecting them, and have the first 26, but it seems the Florida and Texas quarters (the last two released) are damn hard to find.

Spun Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 Don't worry about not getting any of the quarters. When New York had it's quarter released it took along time before I saw one out west. After a while it was as common as the rest of the states. Here is a link to the US Mint: http://www.usmint.gov/index.cfm?flash=yes
Mark VI Posted September 17, 2004 Posted September 17, 2004 That's very nice. For those who know coins, the U.S. mint has underachieved for many years. Canada's quality of coins has been far superior . Many beautiful designs of nature and adventure. The U.S. was content with Dead presidents and lacked any change or imagination.
