Coach Tuesday Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 JP Losman, with his limited experience and poor play, is in NO position to dictate to the coach. He needs to do what he is told, collect his huge salary, and shut up. 466615 Any other position on the team, and you might be right. But not QB - a QB can't be successful if he doesn't have his teammates' confidence. BTW, if that Clayton report is true (that Holcomb is in fact the starter), MM fugged this up bigtime by not just announcing that this afternoon. I'll say it again - Losman's confidence is too important to be toyed with for the sake of trying to fool Saban. Stick to the X's and O's, Mularkey, not the gamesmanship. Oh, and while you're at it, RUN THE GODDAMN BALL. BTW, for those of you who haven't seen this, would you start a quarterback who looked like this: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/nflpreview?gameId=251009002 Didn't think so...
Dan Gross Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 john clayton just said holcomb will start on nfl sirius radio with rich eisen. 466606 Holcomb's starting on Rich Eisen's radio show? Who is going to backup Losman this weekend?
MadBuffaloDisease Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Holcomb's starting on Rich Eisen's radio show? Who is going to backup Losman this weekend? George Seifert.
bleedinblue Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Oh boy. oh boy, Holcomb may start, Career line: 366-577 (63%)--26 TD/29 INT--Average rating 73 Take out his career games and it drops to 62% and 20TD/28 INT Why do so many forget that this guy was run out of Cleveland and is a mediocre journyman QB at best

Let's give him a try.

Coach Tuesday Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Once being the key word 466653 Once is one more than NEVER. Just trying to be positive here.
bleedinblue Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Once is one more than NEVER. Just trying to be positive here. 466659 I know, I know, but I don't consider starting Holcomb a positive. He is a backup at best and why further delay the development of the, at least possible, future QB.
Mike in Syracuse Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 If the decision is made to start Holcomb on Sunday then I will completely lose faith in the Bills as an organization. The vacuum of leadership is simply astounding.

Face it, if the Bills lose at home this weekend, the season is O V E R....Look at the upcoming schedule...
BillsWatch Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Will this be officially announced by crayon drawings from a poster named, KH-Era? 466302 Can I use that in my signature? I almost forgot about that 'tard. Excellent post. 466348 He actually posts using same drivel and log on another site and told me leave that site ago back to TSW with the rest of the old guys. This implies he wears diapers and uses crayons. Hmmm, if Peters were to start all 11 positions on offense, would that collectively raise his Wonderlic score to 11? 466432 No his Wonderlic score would be 1/11 - you need to divide it
zow2 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 I don't understand why anyone on this board would be upset with Holcomb starting on Sunday? Why is MM such a bad coach for doing this? I would do it in a heartbeat. Losman is overmatched right now. We will LOSE to Miami if he starts. He does not do enough with his legs right now to offset his horrible passing number and inaccuracy. We still have a shot to win 9 or 10 games if the team gets on a roll. If Holcomb fails, then JP will be right back in there and get his precious experience. JP is the future. DOn't worry about his confidence, let's just win a few games and keep our opponents honest with some semblance of a passing threat.
Adam Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 It was speculation. 466304 Nobody at WGR is intelligent enough for speculation

I think so many people are upset because this organization told them to go out and spend their money on season tickets, etc., because we were told Losman was ready to start. There is a feeling that we've been somehow hoodwinked by TD (again). I understand both sides, but TD was doing his job, and MM will be doing his job when he starts Holcomb on Sunday.

QB is the least of the problems, coaching may very well be the top of the list with the inability of the defense to get off the field a close second. The QB can be changed every play, but until the underlying problems (and there are many) are addressed, any of the three is going to have difficulty.

I don't think MM is making this decision as a knee jerk thing. I mean a great talent like Lee Evans is on pace for about 30 receptions and 1 or 2 Td's. That's totally ridiculous. You need a passing attack to win in the NFL and they've given JP some pretty easy play calls to complete and he hasn't. Give Holcomb a shot and you may find that JP plays better at some point coming off the bench when there is less pressure.
slothrop Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Listen to the clip on WGR550.com. "I'm not going to talk about a starter at any position for either team today." "Why?" "What part of I'm not gonna talk about it...?" "Is it a strategy-wise on your part?" "I'm not gonna talk about a starter at any position." 466436 If he wasn't going to talk about any starters why didn't the reporters ask "who will be the backup QB?"
AJ1 Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 If he wasn't going to talk about any starters why didn't the reporters ask "who will be the backup QB?" 466752 If we have a QB change on Sunday, and Mularky knows it today, and gives that BS answer then we have one of the most balless, dumb-ass ***** imaginable as HC. If true, my caring for the Bills will be coming to an abrupt end.
Terry Tate Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 It's not official, but I heard from a reliable source the team will be wearing the blue and gold Sunday.
