GG Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 So they fire Art Howe, but ask him to stay on until the end of the season? And he agrees? And then Mets fans wonder why no one give a flying __ about them?
Thailog80 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Exactly. WTF are they thinking? Yeah Im sure Pinella is chomping at the bit to go there..........
njsue Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 It takes an owner that really gives a damn about putting real achievers on the field. Rather than over paid totally under achievers. Art Howe is a great Manager. Look what he did with the Oakland A's. Al west division winners ton's. FRED WILPON IS AN IDIOT. Jump on board to the Yankee wagon. There owner gives a damn. He puts the play makers on the field.

Just when you think they've done the most ignorant thing ever, they trump themselves.
_BiB_ Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 I'm one of the last 212 Braves fans. I'm still having a hard time with Tommy Glavin going there. I'm pretty sure that there are deals within deals there.
njsue Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Al Leiter would look dynamite in Yankee Pinstripes. Good looking pitcher wearing tight pinstripe pants

Supposedly he's quite the prospect. PS. F the Mets

Dude's been dead for 3 years and just doesn't know it.
gantrules Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Acutually guys their are still quite a few of us Braves fan. Jose Capellan is starting tomorrow against the Mets. I watched him pitch agains the Expos and he's a freak. 94-96 on the fastball with movement a nasty slider and a decent changeup. He'll be in the rotation next year. Dan Meyer is starting next week, too. He's a prospect out of Richmond and looking pretty good too. I was getting nervous about this lead but with the Marlins smoking a bone against the Expos tonight I think it's pretty much wrapped up. Go Braves!!!!!

Go Braves!!!!! 33065 Heck yeah, man.....this is a team to get excited about! I'm glad the Braves are doing it with a slashed payroll......we've never been like the Yankees, but it's just not the same when you have a team that's in first place cause you've spent more than the next guy. If the NFL was like baseball, chances are small market teams would never have a chance. Hell, the Pirates and Expos are like farm teams for the larger market teams in MLB. Anyway, I digress......go Braves! I can't wait to see this new gun tomorrow.
KD in CA Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Al Leiter would look dynamite in Yankee Pinstripes. Good looking pitcher wearing tight pinstripe pants 32966 Well he did 15 years ago...maybe the Yanks shouldn't have given up on him so quickly back then
njsue Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 I know Leiter came up in the Yankees farm system. Joe Torre wasnt the manager then. If he was leiter would still be a yankee.

Kinda like the Mets do now!!
bills_fan Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano??? What were they smoking????
KD in CA Posted September 16, 2004 Posted September 16, 2004 Scott Kazmir for Victor Zambrano??? What were they smoking???? 33097 don't get me started....

Yanks got Jesse Barfield to solidify right field. Great arm & bat for a few years.

B) 33308 I didn't realize this guy already pitched a game.....He apparently went five innings on 9/12...would have had a win if Smoltz hadn't had an off night. ....the dude is 6'4" 235! http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/a...s_atl&fext=.jsp
