black buddy's who hates the media. Despises them actually. Hates the way blacks are portrayed accross the networks. The sarcasm is profound.......

Dont shoot the messenger :D

Things I have learned from watching the news about Hurricane Katrina on TV:

1. The hurricane only hit black family's property.

2. New Orleans was devastated and no other city was affected by the hurricane.

3. Mississippi is reported to have a tree blown down.

4. New Orleans has no white people.

5. The hurricane blew a limb off a tree in the yard of an Alabama resident.

6. When you are hungry after a hurricane steal a big screen TV.

7. The hurricane did 23 billion dollars in improvements to New Orleans: now the city is welfare, looters and gang free and they are in your city.

8. White folks don't make good news stories.

9. Don't give thanks to the thousands that came to help rescue you, instead B word because the government hasn't given you a debit card yet.

10. Only black family members got separated in the hurricane rescue efforts.

11. Ignore warnings to evacuate and the white folks will come get you and give you money for being stupid.

12. Oh, and it is all George Bush's fault.

Maybe it was the channel I was watching but I recall seeing plenty about the rest of the Gulf coast, especially where that entire Casino floated out to the shore. I must have seen 20 reports filmed with that casino in the background. I also didn't see one film of anyone carrying a big screen TV wading through flood waters. I did see plenty of people with arm loads of clothes. I'm not saying that there wasn't such footage, just that I didn't see much of it.

I'm sure all those dead people at that nursing home would love to give thanks to the President, FEMA, Brown, Blanco, Nagin and their Parish President for their rescue efforts if they weren't, you know, dead and all.

Did you mean the irony inherent in a post blaming the media which says "don't shoot the messenger"?

The President is supposed to keep track of all the nursing homes in disaster areas now?

Yeah, clearly if not for President Bush, those people at the nursing home wouldn't be dead right now.

Na, I do find it funny though, that you're defending the media.

Seriously?  I saw a lot more footage of idiots carrying TVs than I did people carrying clothes.

I saw one guy carrying about 20 fishing rods out of a sporting goods store.

But we should excuse that. Clearly he was just trying to catch himself some dinner.

I saw friggin' women POLICE OFFICERS walking through an abandoned WalMart with a shopping cart putting in shoes and whatever else they wanted in it. When the reporter asked one of them what she was doing, she said 'I'm here to stop the looting'

But of course, WalMart deserved it because they deprive their workers of health insurance...

Teach a man to loot a sporting goods store, and you've apparently fed about 20 men for a lifetime.

I wonder how much of what was looted in NO has shown up on eBay? Interesting question...don't know how you'd answer it, though.
