- I asked the question prior to the season if Holcomb would be a better win now option. At the time I felt this team was playoff ready, and maybe Holcomb would give us a better chance at winning right now then JP would. But now I just don't feel the same way. This team has not played playoff caliber football in any stage of the game. JP has been bad, and maybe Holcomb would play better, but it's not going to matter when you’re giving up 200+ yards on the ground.

- The offensive line was once again neglected, and once again it shows. We simply don't draft lineman in the first three rounds, and when top FA's become available we rarely express interest. What in the last 5-6 years says to TD that we don't need to upgrade this position? I don't get it, and if somebody does please fill me in.

- I have never hated or loved TD, he has his moments, but doesn't this feel like were rebuilding? The timing of offense being good and the defense being good has been horrible. Perhaps when put together only the offense from Bledsoe's first year, and last years defense and ST would equal a playoff caliber team. Now the defense seems to be losing it, and the offense is horrible. How again are we getting better?

- I really hope JP has as much mental toughness as he does confidence. I always thought some younger QB's who failed did so because they lost confidence in themselves. It can be brutal playing QB in Buffalo if things aren't going right. If he starts getting consumed by it his progress will definitely be slowed down.

I agree strongly with your second and third points. I don't understand the reluctance to invest in either high draft picks or free agents to improve our o-line. We have all recognized the weaknesses, and opposing teams have consistently exploited these weaknesses. It is not about coaching. It is about talent, or the lack thereof.

As to your second thought, many teams have successfully been "rebuilt" in relatively short periods of time. TD has had five years, two coaches and enough resources.

A crappy veteran QB will always outplay a green rookie.

I'm not disputing that, my point is it really wouldn't matter with the way the rest of the team is playing.
