VABills Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Being down 8 points in the 4th Q is playing catch-up by definition, Einstein. Before that INT, the Bills scored on 4 of 6 drives. Kelly the Dog Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 The drive was considered continued because of the fumble recovery. PTR 454443 Technically, and officially, it would be ten drives. Because if the Falcons didn't have possession of the ball, it would not have been a fumble and the Bills couldn't have recovered it. It will also be a turnover in the stats. As soon as the other team gets possession of the ball, it is the end of the series. That said, it's an incredibly stupid argument you guys are having. Because if there was an interception, and the defense fumbled on the return and the offense recovered it, it would be a turnover and officially another drive, but the same stupid argument. A technicality.

Billsgirl Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 You can't bench your QB after three games. JPL is the best QB on the roster, and you play your best players. CW 454412 I completely agree with that statement... JP is the better quarterback on our roster... I am not going to defend him and say that he hasn't pretty much sucked in these games... but I ddn't expect him to come out like Big Ben did... he doesn't have the OL for that. He's a rookie quarterback coming out at a time when rookie quarterbacks have happened to kick butt... but the majority of them normally don't excel to a high level their first season. If JP continues to struggle (which I hope not cuz he as so much potential) then we can start thinking about other options... but this season WAS dedicated to making him our starter... let's stay with the game plan longer.
Tortured Soul Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 You can't bench your QB after three games. JPL is the best QB on the roster, and you play your best players. CW 454412 We're just waiting to see some evidence of that. We're tired of hype. It is one thing to say he will be the best, another to say he is right now.
bdelma Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Well he is not taking care. And we have a caretaker on the bench. I don't want to see the team become Ravens North where we coddle our own little Kyle Boller for years with managment and coaching in denial as to how bad he stinks and our good defense gets older and falls apart. Reminds me of the 3-D (deny deny deny) approach of another administration when it encounters trouble. Try Holcomb. Its an insult to all the veterans on the team and the fans to not try and win now. He played against a banged up secondary and had 140 yards production by his running back. At home. Despite these favorable conditions. He repeteaedly made terrible decisions and simply can't hit wide open receivers on the rare occasion that he can see them. Why not shut us all up by giving Holcomb his shot and see what happens? P.S. How did Lee Evans and Eric Moulds from being great to terrible? Hmmm I wonder what changed so much since last year? 454273 That's beautiful. This kid can't managed except handing off right now. No timing at all with his outside receivers.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Unfortunately if JP starts we may have our shot at drafting Leinhart. We looks far worse than Cleveland and other candidates Texans may be our only competition. So I take it you are in favor of the Kyle-Boelleresque lets stay in denial plan? 454331 Are you HIGH? We look worse than Cleveland? Really, take a pill, man, it's gonna be all right.
Golden Wheels Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Drew Brees was bad the first season he was a starter....good thing San Diego gave up on him, huh? And I remember Terry Bradshaw's first season in Pittsburgh. He played so poorly that their fans were convinced he was retarded. (Well, ok, maybe they weren't COMPLETELY wrong.) Maybe it is too soon for JP to start, but let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

Hopefully we start seeing glimmers of hope by then. Just trying to be fair and balanced, that JP could go either way.
