Thailog80 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 and if they did, what happened? 454032 Do we have any in the playbook?
Rubes Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Nope...we took out all of the screen passes and instead inserted passes to the TE.
VABills Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 We do, but I don;t think we have seen it since game one, and certainly not inside the 20.
Louie Armstrong Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 and if they did, what happened? 454032 The Burger King picked one off in the second quarter. He took it 50 yards for the score, then proceeded to do the Deion dance in the endzone. It was clutch.
bills_fan_in_raleigh Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Nope...we took out all of the screen passes and instead inserted passes to the TE. 454176 we have a tight end on the team? wouldn't know it seems like only one who JP is in synch with is Josh Reed
Left Overture Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 we have a tight end on the team? wouldn't know it seems like only one who JP is in synch with is Josh Reed 454201 They tried what looked like one pseudo-screen. It was supposed to be designed like a wide receiver screen but utilizing Campbell. JP rolled out, but Campbell tripped on nothing and fell to the turf. That fall threw off the timing of the play and the defense was able to blow it up. We need a real tight end... yeah, I'm like a broken record when it comes to having a solid TE for a young QB. Nothing works better at buiding up the confidence than being able to dump it off to someone that is able to get position on the linebacker or safety covering him and rumble to the marker.
cåblelady Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 They tried what looked like one pseudo-screen. 454319 That's the one I was thinking about. Thanks.
Left Overture Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 That's the one I was thinking about. Thanks. 454323 No problem... I was almost missing Lonnie "stone-hands" after that play:)
coywire27 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 did losman at any time today attempt a pass15-20 yards in the middle of the field - it seemed as if the passes were going to the 5-10 yard flats or the loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong fades - what happened to attacking the middle of the field? - also, the play calling was lacking a certain creative edge we saw last year or even in the preseason - what are your thoughts?

He's taking one quick look down field and then dumping it short if he doesn't see the pattern develop. I thought he had plenty of time several times but just didn't show enough patience. On his interception (a 15-20 yard over-the-middle pattern, BTW) he had plenty of time. He just locked onto LE and the corner read his eyes.
nick in* england Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Do we have any in the playbook? 454035 Yes. MM said in the past week that they did a good job of running screens agains the Texans... They are there, but as seems to be the problem so far this season (per Play Action vs Bucs) the coaches seem to forget half (all?) of the playbook exists on a weekly basis...
