Mile High Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Willis Article ``Sometimes those negative things that happen in games may be a positive in the long run,'' Mularkey said. ``It obviously was a positive in practice, the way he was hitting the hole. ... It was a noticeable difference.'' ``Sometimes, you have to sit there and show him: `Here's what we're talking about,''' Mularkey said. ``With his size and strength, if he can move the line of scrimmage, we should be making yards.''
Larry Playfair Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 and tahts the point mularky was making. a lil fire needed to be lit under the offense. Hope it worked.
stevestojan Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 pssst... Mike.... SHUT THE !@#$ UP! Why does he get his rocks off talking to the media? Roscoe Parrish has a major injury and we get nothing. He's not happy with Willis's play and he holds !@#$ing press conferences? Yell at Willis all you want in the locker room. Hell, call his cell and tell him he sucked on Sunday. Why drag this sh-- into the media? Oh lord...

stevestojan Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Different people get motivated differently. 450909 So, Mularkey thinks Willis will be motivated by telling Jerry Sullivan and the rest of the clowns that he thinks Willis is playing poorly?

Oh lord... 450904 disclaimer: I'm not saying I would or would not approach it the same way, but: Because it makes a bigger impression. If he screams at him behind closed doors, Willis can tell him to get fvcked and walk away. When he puts it out in the open, Willis has to deal with it, whether he likes it or not. And maybe it will piss him off that his coach did this to him. And maybe thats what he needs.... maybe

Oh lord... 450904 That's what V-Coach said to me: "Mularkey calls Press Conference to talk about how sucky McGahee's playing." It's clear that the comments were not an answer to a question asked at a regularly scheduled press conference... Of course, had his answer been the standard: "There's nothing wrong with McGahee's play, we're just not executing as an offense" we would have heard "WHAT IS HE, BLIND?! HE'S FRIGGIN' HESITATING HITTING THE HOLE!" Damned if you do...

Talk about messing with a young QB's head! He will swing from considering himself the second coming of Favre to Ryan Leaf in two clicks.
