KD in CA Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Wow...scary It's live on the news channels right now....they're getting ready to attempt the landing. Say a prayer for those people.
KD in CA Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Very nice landing by the pilot. I can't believe the gear held up while the front tire burned up beneath him. And I'm sure Jet Blue's insurance company is happy since he saved millions of dollars of damage to the plane!
buffalobillsfootball Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 jetBLUE is an awesome airline. i wish they would buy out USAirways. BUF airprices would continue to fall drastically.
Fezmid Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Hopefully someone will post video online sometime. Sounds cool. In other news: It's raining in Minnesota. And I still can't watch Lost because of it. EDIT: Because the news people are talking about the storm, not because of DirecTV. CW

Gary M Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I noticed something very odd tonight. I have never seen a jetblue commercial on TV, but tonight during LOST they showed a Jet Blue commercial a few minutes after the plane landed safely.
Just Jack Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I think some of the comments from the passengers were funny. Crippled Jet Lands Safely at L.A. Airport Hadn't anyone seen this movie before?
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 They noticed the gear was jazzed up right away... Why fly in circles for 3 hours? Why not just take it from LA to NYC and land there? Avoiding the agony? Got to spend the three hours in the air dumping the fuel... Why not make it productive and get the people to their destination?

Or maybe the gear being down somehow affects the abilty of the jet to fly at a higher altitude.
Dan Gross Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I guess it's a rough week for landing gear...
