USMCBillsFan Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Is this thing supposed to dump a bunch of rain on N.O.?? I can't seem to get much on it from here in Iraq. What is the news saying?? The gulf is getting pounded this year, damn...
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Hope you are doing well. Looks like she is passing between the Keys and Cuba. Nice tight little storm... Well defined little eye. This could be trouble traveling the length of a very warm Gulf. Pray for some shear!
brihs2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Rita is a bit nuts... not as much of a whack job as Ophelia, but still like your "average" woman, a bit psycho. It is headed more towards Texas currently, and may clip the most western parts of Louisiana, then again, as of two days ago it was projected to hit NO dead on... so we will see what tomorrow brings and if the path changes again. Prayers for those anywhere near its path.
Fan in San Diego Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Just saw a headline that Rita is now a Cat 3 storm.
USMCBillsFan Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 Wow. I feel bad for the south. This could be the finishing touch for N.O. I heard on the news at chow that it was heading towards Galvaston? And I'm doing pretty good over here. Got to watch the a$$ whoopin we took but I still think we'll be alright...
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Sat Image Look at this creep. Notice all the red... Small eye. Pray it falls apart!
dib Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Lovely Rita, meter maid, scooted south of us. Rain like a fire hose and gusty wind but not much else. The middle keys got pounded with U.S. 1 being cut in a few places by storm surge. She's going to get bitchy as she crosses the Gulf.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Category 4 now. Wow, this could REALLY be crippling if she hits the Texas Gulf oil fields.
Puhonix Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 She's a Cat 4 now. And this blasted upper level high that's been cripsing my lawn and keeping the rain away, is steering her toward Texas, so I'm kinda digging the High now.
