The room block is filling up fast at The Holiday Inn on the RIVERWALK – Rate is $99. You must call 210-224-2500 and ask for Buffalo Bills rate (not online). When they’re gone the hotel will be sold out.

Bills Fan Parties:

1. Pre-game get-together: Saturday from 4pm to 6pm in the Holiday Inn (Riverwalk) bar. Drink specials and snacks – ALL ARE WELCOME (not just hotel guests).

2. Game Day Tailgate:

Since we can’t plan a tailgate at the Alamodome (parking is too limited), the Holiday Inn has offered us a large, free room for overflow off their bar. I’ve visited the location and it’s perfect for a get-together. They will put on drink specials and snacks (we can also bring some extra snacks). It’s also right next to their restaurant for anyone who wants to eat healthy. ALL ARE WELCOME – the Holiday Inn wants to be the official Bills Fan Hotel for that weekend. We can put up banners and bills decorations.

The bar will open at least 4 hours before the start of the game (yes, even at 8am if we have a noon game).

Transportation:

From the airport to the Holiday Inn Riverwalk: Taxi is around $20. Downtown shuttle is $12. Metro bus is $2 - Route 2 and get off at Pecan/Main St. stop (2 blocks from hotel)

To the game: walking is 9/10 of a mile – but it may be very hot that day. The streetcar stop (yellow route) is two blocks from the hotel and goes to the dome. It runs every 10 minutes. Eighty cents. www.viainfo.net/Ride/streetcar.aspx

Or group together and cab it.

Please help get the Tailgate info out to other Bills fans coming to San Antonio for the game.

Extras: The San Antonio Riverwalk is a great place to visit. You can look at the available attractions at www.sanantoniocvb.com.

If you want to soak up some real “Texas” atmosphere, go to Steers & Beers or Texas Land & Cattle – both on the Riverwalk and have great steak. For seafood….Landrys. For Tex Mex…almost anywhere.

Also, try to get over to Buckhorn Saloon & Hall of Horns – it’s amazing. And to soak up some local flavor – Market Square. Of course, you’ll want to visit the Alamo, and for a good story of the Alamo, catch the Imax Theater showing of “Alamo – the Price of Freedom (next to the Marriott on the Riverwalk)

Have fun!!
