This is a hypothetical question. :D

What would you rather have:

A. HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, and Starz HD-channels + all their associated extra channels for the price of only HBO...

but with no signal on the ESPN HDTV channel & no signal on some other channels

including MTV & VH1

or

B. HBO, ESPN HDTV, MTV, VH1 as should be but no Showtime, Cinemax, or Starz

?????

I don't really know

It depends if you watch movies when they are on. If you tape them, you don't need HD. I like ESPNHD for Sunday night football and hockey(if there is a season). A lot of ESPN HD programming is not true HD. I would probably go with (B) because I would rather have the HD sports.

I'd tape them if I had a DVR. HD-movies look a lot better than DVD, they are mind-blowing. But Sunday Night football on ESPN... damn!

Well I pretty much have option 1 and would take option 2 in a heart beat. The movies on the other channels generally suck anyway. I'd take ESPN HD over the movie channels anyday. And you get that with HBO HD? Take the sports channel. Trust me.

You cannot beat HD sports programming, man.....I love movies more than just about anyone you'll ever meet....but sports is where HD really shines. I've had this for over three months, and I still hit the floor every time I see football, soccer, tennis, etc. in HD. It's amazing.

Many of the "standard" movies channels that are supposed to be HD are just scaled up crap. TNT is the bust example I can think of. I'd go with option number two because I believe you can get Starz for like $3 per month.
