UConn James Posted September 15, 2005 Share Posted September 15, 2005 The opportune thing is when you only use that excuse once for each kind of mistake. If JP uses it to describe himself throwing into double coverage, and then next time he doesn't, then I'd let it pass. Problem when Drew used the phrase was he'd do some boneheaded thing like throw the ball away on 4th down, pick the wrong side of the field to defend, etc. Continued making the same damn mistakes, and it rings hollow. I just thought it was funny that whenever GW or Bledsoe said it it was the worst thing in the world to people here, but nobody cares if JP says it. I think the difference is that after hearing that excuse about 1,000 million times, it gets annoying. JP OTOH had just finished his first game with his new offense, in a game they WON.
