NJ_BillsFan Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Hey all! Just finalized plans for wedding in Bahamas. I am looking to go on a honeymoon after that to Jamaica. I called the hotel and the honeymoon package is $100 more a night thru them then Expedia.com. Should I use expedia.com? The money is important but I don't know if the hotel will treat us differently that we booked thru expedia. I want it to be special and was wonering if anyone ever used expedia.com and gave special instructions, like "it's my honeymoon"?
BillsFanInTexas Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 Contact the hotel and see if they'll match the rate found on Expedia. That way, no worries. Tell them that you'll be happy to email a link.
aussiew Posted September 13, 2005 Posted September 13, 2005 I use expedia.com almost daily. I get excellent customer service. Sometimes they can get a better rate on a hotel because they purchase the rooms wholesale. A word of caution. If going during hurricane season, the little extra for hurricane insurance may be worth it. My son got married last September in Jamaica. Two days after the wedding, "Ivan" was approaching, so Sandles evacuated them out to another resort to finish their honeymoon, PLUS they got another 7 day stay and up to a year to use it. I think the insurance cost them $100.
