Nick in RaChaCha Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I was at the game and that was one of the loudest games I have ever been to. What did it sound like on TV?
cåblelady Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I played the game back last night when I got home. It was loud. P.S. Nice to see you again.
smokinandjokin Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 After the nice first drive by JP got the crowd pumped, when Schoebel sacked Carr on third down, the place was as loud as I've ever heard it.
34-78-83 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I agree it was pretty loud (Hi Nick ) although I will say that it seemed to temper off a bit in the 2nd half. I'm not sure if it was the heat or what but we could have done more to help in the 3rd quarter (but I'm pretty picky). People seemed to bounce back ans get loud again in the 4th.To me, when the Bills are on defense, there are still too many people more caught up with their "rights" as paying fans instead of trying to prevent the opposition from calling audibles on offense. This never used to be a problem.
udonkey Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I agree that it was very loud from very early on. I also agree that it did seem to slack off a bit in the 3rd. I was personally kind of in a stupor, as my beer was wearing off and the heat/sun was starting to get to me...

If so, who really gives an F? I doubt security would do anything because fans are cheering loudly. Scream out your lungs, pound the seats and make as much noise as possible.

TheZone78 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 The 12th man sucks....sorry guys, but the sound was pathetic. I was sitting a couple sections off the tunnel in the 2nd level and the sound was loud for the first 3rd down play and then it died. It was like a funeral home. So many people are scared to act all crazy. All people need to do is clap their hands even with a little bit of screaming. If 71,000 people did that it would be deafening. During the Texans TD drive the crowd died until they got close to the end zone and then it picked up again.

stuckincincy Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 And...your point is? 437959 Care to have neighbors who act like you advocate? Sweet? Cool? Their "right"? Those around you in a stadium are your neighbors for a few hours. C'mom, scribo...I've read your posts for a long time, enjoy your views, and I can't think but that you are a but a bit pumped up at the moment...right?
34-78-83 Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 How infantile. That's the behavior of a 6-month old. 437954 No, that was the behavior of basically every Bills fan during the nineties run of success. We were able to compete with dome stadium volume levels because of this at one time. When the opponent's offense can't audible their chances for success go down significantly (As if you didn't know that already ).

Tis' become Rollerball.. .
scribo Posted September 12, 2005 Posted September 12, 2005 I hope you have neighbors who act - dalily - like you advocate. Sweet? Cool? Their "right"? 437960 Many thanks for your wish. Maybe it is time for a reality check for you. I don't LIVE at the Ralph. I go there to watch football. Yes, if I LIVED in an area that was built with the intention to host 71,000+ screaming, yelling, pumped-up fans, I should expect just that, or I should move. If someone doesn't want to be in a stadium that in known nationally for its super loud crowd, then don't go the games! I'm not saying that drunken cursing and spitting is OK, I am saying that when I go to a Bills game I feel it is my duty to make as much noise as possible to help me team. And I feel it is every other Bills fan around me to do the same. If you go to a play, yes, you have a "right" to relaxed, quiet setting. If you go to a pro football game (at any stadium), yes, you have a right to a loud, energized setting.

It's a lot more than the fact that you get to sleep in your own bed the night before the game.

Even Jim Kelly, after giving a short speech yesterday at halftime, pleaded to the fans to be as loud as absolutely possible when the Texan's offense took the field.

This is why teams play so hard to get home field throughout the playoffs and why the percentage of home Wins in the NFL playoffs far outweighs those of road teams.
