National media not noticing the Bills yet

Fan in Chicago - No, this is not a game we are "supposed to win"...  quite the contrary...  I'm saying I think we'll win the game...

I'm not trying to be negative here - I'm just saying we haven't done anything to merit national attention...  Sure, some of the media thought Houston would win this game, but most of them picked the Bills to win - that to me is a "supposed to win" game...

Upsets and blowouts garner attention.  Like I said, if the score was 30-7...  you'd see more hype...  The Defense played stellar, the offense played good/good+...  If you think that sort of performance is the best we can do, we're in trouble.

And DCSabres is absolutely right, this is way better than last year...

Fair enough. I just don't think we on this board should play down a victory and leave that to the media.

I was going to make a similar post, 'caused I noticed the same thing.  I was really surprised that Peter King didn't have something to say about it.  Better this than everyone blowing JP's performance way out of proportion, only to hammer him when (if!) he has a bad game.

Especially got me mad for not even a mention of the stellar performance by

the D...King was raving about the KC defense and Dallas defense...but not

a word about the bills D....The opposing QB has a 12.1 QB rating....and the

D had 5 turnovers and 5 sacks and 120 Net yards of offense...Hmmm...that

sounds better than the performance by the KC D or Dallas D which gave up

400 yards of offense..

Don't know about the "national" press, but Cincy Enquirer beat reporter Mark Curnutte had a good opinion in the Sunday paper here...

The Bills really thumped a team many sports writers said should be contending for a playoff spot and maybe their division title.

437673[/snapback]

Who was saying division title? This being the same division that the Colts play in? 0:)

I agree, though, that the Texans were a worthy team that we soundly beat. Plus, our young offense deserves to be cut some early season slack. If we played the Texans again in December, I bet a lot of those field goals would have been touchdowns.

Anyway, if a Bills media lovefest is what everyone wants, expect to wait at least another week. Currently there are 16 undefeated teams, which is way too many for the superficial media to analyze. After Week 2, that undefeated number should drop to about 10. If we're among this elite 2-0 group, we'll definitely stand out among the list of usual suspects (Pats, Colts, Steelers, etc...).

Yes, I noticed that too. I hope it stays that way until week 8 or so. Then they can look up and say, "hey, the bills are 6-2" Or "Hey, the Bills are 7-1".

That would be ok with me....

Na, if the Bills knockoff TB, some will start to notice.

Indeed. TB is certainly a bit down on their luck, but they have enough good players to win outright if the opposition has turnovers. They have talented players, and HC Gruden and staff aren't bums.

Yes, but if we beat them, people will say they really weren't very good. 0:)

Yes, they would. Beating the Falcons will not be ignored or dismissed easily, however.

After scanning the big websites, (SI, Sporting News, USA Today, ESPN etc.) there is next to nothing about the Bills and Losman's performance.

Actually that's fine with me.  Better we lurk in the shadows a while longer.

The Bills never get national attention. Houston vs. Buffalo is not a marquee matchup. Wait until we play bigger teams like ATL and then of course NE.

In two words: Who Cares?

I don't give a damn what the national media thinks about Buffalo. Unless we start 5-0, the media won't give buffalo any attention until we play NE, and then it'll be mostly 'brady always torches buffalo's d'.  Buffalo was impressive in victory yesterday, and should be trying to work on their red zone production and figure out how to move the ball against a stout tampa D and how to quiet an efficent Tampa running attack.

Agree, agree, agree, and agree.
